So? I've seen lots of statues for pre-US "national figures" around the US. Lots of Greeks, Romans, Englandlanders, Columbii, even a few Leif Eriksons.

those are generally people much more relevant to the US than Khan. That said, I'm going to go ahead and admit that my "national figure" point doesn't really hold up under scrutiny. *Sigh* another case of posting first, thinking later.
