No, Denny is not the idiot.

The ones swallowing the MSM propoganda about ditching Denny are the idiots.

Dem'crats are not subject to the rules of propriety that Republicans subscribe to, because the whole idea of personal responsibility and moral fiber has been totally discounted in their universe. But that does not keep the Dem'crats from reading the Scripture, and seeking out loopholes through which they may assail the Republicans for not following the Republican's OWN rules, whereupon the Republicans find themselves at the bottom of the dog pile. Sometimes thrown there by other Republicans.

No similar criteria for good behavior, or penalty for bad behavior, exists for Dem'crats.

Had Foley been a Democrat, he would have probably stood his ground and screamed, "witch hunt!" at his accusers. The liberals, MSM, and DU crowd would then have rallied around him.

Still, several well-known conservatives called for Republican resignations because Hastert and other leaders did not act aggressively enough when they first learned of a separate set of "overly friendly" e-mails that Mr. Foley had sent to another teenage former page. they want to make a splah with the press, get on Nightline and Face The Nation. Beside it's a fine old tradition with the right to eat their young.

There! That's more like it.

AREN'T PRIVATE INST. MESSAGES CONFIDENTIAL? How could they become public and be printed all over the newspaper? Isn't this an invasion of the boy's privacy (assuming it's true that the family did not want this publicized) and of Foley's privacy? Do we now have to worry that our private IMs are NOT private?

There are two different communications here. The boy whose parents didn't want publicity or further investigation on behalf of their son sent EMAILs to Representative Alexander's staffer.

The IMs - according to ABC - were sent to ABC by other former pages after the initial story was broadcast. If the recipients (the pages) chose to give the IM correspondance to ABC, there isn't an invasion of privacy.

It's an excellent illustration of a wise saying: "Don't post anything you wouldn't want to see on the front page of a newspaper."

"Pelosi had access to the instant messages for THREE YEARS.

That is the place for your focus."

I disagree. A man in his 50's trying to pork a kid is where my focus is and should be. Holding the messages for 3 years is a relevant point but it does not in any way diminish the type of sicko, pervert predator Foley is.

Yesterday, there was a link with all of the IM's printed, in their full glory. How can this happen? Do we have to worry that our private IMs can be published?

IM's involve more than one party and anyone a party to the IM can capture, save or snapshot the conevrsation. There are programs the "kids" parents could have had running on the computer that capture the IM's and store them secretly. Someone at the ISP level could have been capturing them, Etc, etc, etc.

Who is he? Well he's president of Citizens United. Who are they? They are a conservative group. Hope that helps to make things clearer

I should also mention that he loves his mother and is a snappy dresser.

I hate to bother you for news, but... I haven't followed this story closely (too disturbing). Are you saying that the very damaging IMs have been known to Pelosi for three years!!!!??? Also, how did Pelosi, ABC, or anybody else get the goods, and not the Republicans?? Or did we have them, too?

Pelosi had access to the instant messages for THREE YEARS.

If this is true, it's a very powerful antidote which should be publicized. Do you have a link to proof of this?

>>WHAT?!? She had access to the INSTANT MESSAGES, not the e-mails but those filthy IM's for three years and is just NOW breathing fire over them??

If Denny Hastert has to go then so should she and anyone else! <<

That's a great point, and one which should be hammered over and over...if SHE had knowledge of the emails and did nothing, she is a culprit as well.

It would not surprise me if Dems, as well as Repubs, knew these Text Messages/e-mails were coming.

I repeat: the House leadership never saw the text messages, which contained the objectionable material, until they were released by ABC News.

Can you hear me now?

"With reagan-style conservatives like you, the DUmies will have many more subscribers."

As bad as this scandal is for foley and the Pages, and with no evidence Republicans did anything wrong, and as evil as foley is... it does not rise to the level of survival of our way of life. Sorry, but the WOT and defeating those who would surrender our way of life trumps all else in this election. Let the FBI and GOD handle foley and his dim enablers.

I think the DNC folks are outing themselves one by one on here as this unfolds. They are so gleeful they cannot contain themselves.

Bossie was fired from the Congress if I remember right and I was right -- see below.

If what Bossie had in mind was the Webster Hubbell tapes that he and Burton were preparing for release, then these have turned out to be a disaster for Burton and Bossie. Just when Newt Gingrich was trying to increase the scandal pressure on Clinton, Burton and Bossie embarrassed themselves and the GOP by making public selective portions of the Hubbell tapes. Remarks that indicated Hillary Clinton did no wrong were left out of the initial release. In several instances the transcripts did not match the actual recordings, and these errors seemed almost willful, as if they were intended to unfairly implicate Hubbell and the Clintons. Rather than confirming Clinton wrongdoing, they confirmed long-standing Democratic charges that the Burton investigation was hopelessly biased -- and it was Bossie himself who had insisted on their release, over the objections of more prudent committee staffers. After several days of firestorm, Bossie was removed -- reportedly because Republican House leaders (some of whom already questioned Burton's ability to handle the Democrats on his committee) forced Burton to bounce him.

You should ALWAYS believe that your e-mails and IMs have the potential to be printed. MSN messenger and Trillian both save all conversations, not sure about AIM.

The press coverage is dizzying, and in my opinion VERY SLOPPY in an attempt to make the GOP and Hastert look bad. For example, they use the word "pedophile" and we know that sixteen year olders do not fit into that category. Can't these supposedly brainiac journalists find their dictionaries:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (F65.4) defines pedophilia as "a sexual preference for children, boys or girls or both, usually of prepubertal or early pubertal age."[25]

The APA's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4th edition, Text Revision gives the following as its "Diagnostic criteria for 302.2 Pedophilia":[26]

Over a period of at least 6 months, recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children (generally age 13 years or younger).

The person has acted on these urges, or the sexual urges or fantasies cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty.

The person is at least age 16 years and at least 5 years older than the child or children in Criterion A.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Also:

(1) The press can't seem to distinguish between IMs and E-mails.

(2) We don't know the timeline of who saw what (explicit IMs versus "overly-friendly e-mails"...very different animals).

(3) We don't know how many pages were involved.

(4) We don't know the ages of the various pages at the times of the correspondence. In many, if not most, states 16 is the age of consent. Foley's actions were disgusting, but sadly, legal. If the Dems are so aghast at sex-talk directed toward 16-year olders why do they continually resist efforts to enforce statutory rape laws? Also, in many if not most states 16-year olders can marry. So, actual sex with 16-year olders is legal, but "sex-talk" is not? Do the Dems want to raise the age of consent to 18, or 21? Fine, let's do it. But, then, let's enforce starutory rape laws, and forbid marriage til those ages are reached.

(5)We don't fully know the roles of the parents in at least one case.

(6) How did the papers get the e-mails and the IMs? What is the role of CREW and George Soros.

(7) What did the Dems know and when?

(8) How about the hypicrisy: support for Studds and Frank, and condemnation of Foley. At least Foley was "man" enough to resign.

PLEASE, SOMEONE FULLY INVESTIGATE AND CLEAR ALL THIS UP!

What's that got to do with this issue. There's a million perverts and pedophiles out there.

I don't see the connection.
