Saying he was "deeply sorry," Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) resigned from Congress today, hours after ABC News questioned him about sexually explicit internet messages with current and former congressional pages under the age of 18.

A spokesman for Foley, the chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, said the congressman submitted his resignation in a letter late this afternoon to Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.

Good riddance- one less sick bastard. Now let's get to the important issue- who will the Republican Party replace him with and can he win?

Well, the upside to this is the fact that the Dems won't use this against Republicans since doing so would tick off their own base.

I'm sure the Donks will sue to keep Foley's name on the ballot on November 7th and not allow him to be replaced by another GOP candidate. Any chance of keeping the seat will only be through a write-in campaign.

In a statement, Foley said, "I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent."

Yea, right. So why did you do it fool? One more slice of crapola in the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel".

Fifty year old United States Congressman.
This is not one of those ultra-lithe freaks seen in gay pride parades.
Remember that next time someone tells you that their 'friend' is one of the 'good gays'.

Is this guy another boy-loving closet case, or are was he just engaging in locker room talk with some high school kid. If it's the latter, resignation seems appropriate. If it's the former, see Dwyer, Bud.
