Correct me if I'm wrong, but if those are demonstrable wolf kills, aren't the cattle owners reimbursed by the government?Assuming that you can prove it (to be fair, that's not too hard) the government reimbursement doesn't cover the loss incurred. Ranchers usually end up losing $3-$400 per attack.

Only if the wildlife officer watches the wolves kill the cattle.
If the officer arrives after the kill and watches the wolves eat the cow, then the officer does not pay up.
The excuse is , the cow committed suicide...
