If the election for U.S. House of Representatives were today, and you were standing in the voting booth right now, who would you vote for? Republican Dave Reichert? Or Democrat Darcy Burner?
50% Reichert (R)
48% Burner (D)
3% Undecided

This is shaping up to be one of the closer House races, with Reichert probably having a slight edge. SurveyUSA had a somewhat surprising poll a while back that had Reichert up 13, but this one seems to be more in line with reality.

Thanks for the ping. I'm surprised kind of by the low undecideds, but this is Survey USA and they push leaners really hard.

Dang, I thought the name Dave Reichert sounded familiar.
I guess I remember him from an A&E documentary on the Green River Killer
case. And how he detailed the ordeal of hanging tough for the length of
the investigation.
From Reichert's Congressional website:
In 1972 Reichert joined the Sheriffs Office and in 1997 he became King
Countys first elected sheriff in over 30 years. Under his leadership,
the county saw a significant drop in violent crime.
Reichert brought national recognition to the Sheriffs Office as head
of the task force solving the largest serial murder case in U.S. history.
As sheriff, Reichert also brought an unprecedented $28 million in
federal funding to King County law enforcement efforts.

The WA-8th was gerrymandered to be a GOP district. That the former King County Sheriff isn't doing pluralistically-well is a little bit disturbing.
Not a bad bellwether race, however. A lot of time left.

The Microsofties have changed the faces of the 8th and 1st Districts. Likewise the 41st, 45th & 48th state legislative districts.

I worked for Reichert in the King County Sheriff's Department, I worked for his campaign to get him elected to Congress...and I'm glad I live in another Congressional District now since I would never vote for him again.
I totally respected him as the Sheriff and thought he would make an excellent Congressman. Unfortunately, shortly after he got to DC he changed his mind on many issues and became more concerned with getting reelected.
He's better then the alternative, but he was once better then he himself is now.

"50% Reichert (R)

That adds up to 101%.

That is weird though. I didn't even notice it, even though I did notice that the undecideds number was low. What are your thoughts on the poll as a whole, though?

Unfortunately, shortly after he got to DC he changed...
That's too bad.
And sadly, all too common once they get inside that Beltway.

As a whole, it's credible, although I think that Reichert is a little farther ahead.
