Letter by Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad al-Moussawi al-Qasemi to the commander of the Multi-National Force - Iraq (MNF-I): The Iranian regime is the main obstacle to the establishment of democracy and security in Iraq and the region. It is meddling in Iraq in various ways
The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) is the solution to our problem. The Iraqi people consider the PMOI as their hope in the path of mutual interest. Their presence in Iraq as political refugees is both legitimate and lawful and any restriction against them is a plot by the Iranian regime

The founder of the Islamic Alliance Party (IAP) Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad al-Moussawi al-Qasemi wrote a letter to the MNF-I stressing that the IAP was an Islamic and tolerant party. He reiterated, "We know that the Iranian regime is the main obstacle to the establishment of security, stability, and democracy in Iraq and the entire region. Regardless of the number of agreements it signs this problem will not be resolved. The Iranian regime is meddling in Iraqi affairs on a daily basis including in material and spiritual as well as ideological, political, and military domains."

Ayatollah al-Qasemi reiterated in his letter, "We have plenty of information about our country and those of our neighboring countries. But the most important point which needs to be brought up is the issue of the PMOI." Referring to the problem of Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq, he added, "The IAP sees the PMOI as the key to resolving this problem. This, of course, is not solely our opinion but also that of other Iraqi national forces and parties. PMOI members' presence in Iraq as political refugees is legitimate, lawful and in accordance with the Fourth Geneva Convention. The Iraqi people see them as the cornerstone in establishing future brotherly relations between two neighboring countries."

The ayatollah wrote, "I recommend that you reach out to the PMOI since its members are from the intellectual strata of Iranian society who can bring democratic and civilized changes in Iran. They are living in exile and struggling for this very reason. They should be assisted in every possible manner to free their country from this nightmare." He added, "Therefore, we respect their great history and are proud of their presence in Iraq. It is obvious that putting pressure on the PMOI is nothing but a plot by the evil Iranian regime in Iraq."

It sounds like Iranian MEK group in Iraq doesn't want to be thrown out of Iraq and returned to Iran. (where they will most likely be killed)
