Sounds to me like there is an opportunity to use this Egyptian Al-Gama'a Al-Islamiyya group to drive a wedge between al Qaeda and the people it is trying to recruit.

Any possibility of splitting the Islamo-fascist community should be taken - even if its chances of success are slim. Getting them to question their own ideology can only help!

The ascendancy of Al-Gama would, it seem to me, to be preferable to the ascendancy of al-Qaeda.

Agreed.

Even the idea that the Koran can be discussed and interpreted differently by different muslims would go a long way toward open up schisms in the Islamic world which can only be beneficial to us.
