The US government has called regrettable an incident with Venezuelan foreign minister and apologized to the official Caracas. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called the detention in the New York airport another provocation by George Bush.

BTW: I read a piece that Hugo keep smelling that "sulfur" smell on the plane all the way back to Venezuela. Turns out he had eaten one too many burritos on his trip to America.
I heard he was also late and sans ticket.
If it looks like a terrorist and acts like a terrorist, then why should the U.S. Government and Airport security have to apologize?
Well, actually, he is a terrorist. But he also has diplomatic immunity, so he shouldn't have been stopped.
Originally, they did not know he had diplomatic Immunity, by the time they did, he had already gone ballastic.
Well, if they didn't know he had diplomatic immunity, then it's his fault for not telling them. Why didn't his passport clearly indicate that he was a government official?
He was on the terrorist list, according to early reports, and rightly so.
Why?
I think this post should be zotted. This guy signed up just to post this...There has been no apology reported by any credible source.

Can't even find the article on the website of the host ( The Schnitt Show ) who mentioned it but most of those on the plane were Cubans. Many of Yugo's inner circle are Cubans, even Venezuealan cabinet ministers.
