Maybe she voted Republican in the primaries but had no intention of voting Republican in the general election.
Dems have been known to do this countless times.
The media loved some rich Dem who did just that in 2000. This guy said that he'd never seen a candidate who matched his positions so much as Al Gore did. And he got a lot of headline ink as being a "Republican" (in name only) who funded Al Gore Jr.'s recount effort. He even joined up at FR to defend his politics.
