It's going to be a difficult Halloween season.
How many trick or treaters does it take to trigger a call up of the National Guard?
Remember October 31, 2001? How everybody thought the terrorists were going to hit us while all the kiddies were out trick-or-treating? I live in suburban NJ, and folks were really paranoid.
The houses of people who had lost people on 9/11 were all open and the widowed woman down the block had her two little twins out in their costumes. We all went out, because we couldn't imagine not doing so.
Needless to say, it all turned out OK.
