I've read the BOOK...Christians win in the end.

By the blood of the Lamb and the work of our testimony...!

Benedict quit apologizing for things done in the past, a process John Paul II began, because it was never reciprocated.

Rapprochement takes two sides, bilateral action.

The Caliphate, which united Shia and Sunni under one leader, only ended 80 years ago. ... They've thrown aside their differences in the past, what holds them back from doing so again?

I'm guessing the answer to that would be 'A lack of Ottoman armies to force them to throw aside their differences'

What a creep. Off the record and straight out of the box, he goes on air and starts repeating it.

Well, it is Mike Gallagher -- not the most trustworthy fellow in any case. I seem to recall his glowing endorsement of Pat Buchanan for President back in 2000....

The Caliphate predates the Ottomans by almost 1000 years.

"Perhaps the "Kill all the Muslims" crowd might want to try and explain why the bulk of the forces fighting on OUR side in the war now are Muslims?"

Perhaps you need to learn to refine your target list. I never said "kill all the Muslims" in the post I placed on this thread. Save your Holy'r-than-thou State Department BS rhetoric for someone else.

We don't need to kill them all. We do, however, need to be far more brutal in the way we deal with THOSE WHO SUPPORT AND HARBOR TERRORISTS, which is what I said to in the earlier post...for those who can, in fact, read.

I know - but this sword cuts on both sides of the blade. If we start to battle islam instead of terror and evil - we certainly earn us more thn a billion enemies - nothing against earning enemies if it has a reason. But it hasn't.

Many terrorists are muslims but not many muslims are terrorists.

"I know - but this sword cuts on both sides of the blade. If we start to battle islam instead of terror and evil - we certainly earn us more thn a billion enemies - nothing against earning enemies if it has a reason."

True, which is why Bush is using this rhetoric I suppose.

Nonetheless. we have got to do something about Islam in this Country or we will wind up like Londonstan. And in the big picture, they will all be a lurking enemy. Look at Nigeria, Sudan, the Egyptian Copts, other parts of Africa where Christians and animists are being attacked and persecuted. Look at India and Cashmir where Islam is persecuting and attacking Hindus and Sikhs, or southeastern Asia where Buddhists are their targets.

Campare this with a past history of ethnic/religious cleansing in Iran against Bahai's and Zoroastrians, and Assyrian Christians in Iraq, and Christian Armenians in Kurdistan and Turkey and you can see a pattern of behavior which has not changed. If anything, the end of European imperialism has seemed to allow this aggressive belief system to rise from the grave and gain new life.

"Many terrorists are muslims but not many muslims are terrorists."

True, but with few execeptions, the masses of Muslims either sympathize with them or are too afraid of them to speak out against them, and the clerics seem to be almost unanimously supportive of them.

I guess that's becuase there's no analogy in islam to the pope. They just have their imams and they are to many to speak with one voice.

There's in fact a good heap of Imams that have shown to be very cooperative and caring after 9/11 doing exactly what you demanded - distance themselfes from terror and violence - while others have been correctly arrested and e.g. deported from germany.

Fear and disaster is welding people together in this case it's a threat to unify mulims under the falg of hamas or hisbollah in the middle east - or to have even less of them integrating into the english society. Hell I'd have a hard time integrating in england - people don't make friends there anymore.

"Maybe not every Muslim wants to be a jihadi, but how many support the jihadis?"

ISLAM IS NOT A RELIGION OF PEACE.
SHEESH! ...JUST READ THE BOOK!
____________________
Quran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers wherever they find them (Q; 2:191), murder them and treat them harshly (Q; 9:123), slay them (Q; 9:5), fight with them, (Q; 8:65 ). It tells its followes to humiliate the Christians and the Jews and impose on them a penalty tax (Q; 9:29). It takes away the freedom of belief from all humanity and tells clearly that no other religion except Islam is acceptable (Q;3:85) and relegates those who disbelieve in it to hell (Q;5:10), calls them najis (filthy, untouchable, impure) (Q;9:28) and orders the Muslims to fight the unbelievers until no other religion except Islam is left (Q;2:193). Quran states that the non-believers will go to hell and will drink boiling water (Q;14:17). It asks the Muslims to slay or crucify or cut the hands and the feet of the unbelievers, and expel them from the land with disgrace and stresses that “they shall have a great punishment in world hereafter” (Q;5:34). It says that for the disbelievers "garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowels and skin shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods” (Q;22:19). Quran prohibits Muslims to befriend their own brothers and fathers if they are non-believers (Q;9:23), (Q;3:28). It asks the Muslims to “strive against the unbelievers with great endeavor (Q;25:52) and be stern with them because they belong to hell (Q;66:9). The holy Prophet demanded his followers to “strike off the heads of the disbelievers”; then after making a “wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives” for ransom (Q;47:4).
_______________
GW is just saying it is a religion of peace to keep from totally inflaming them (like the Pope so recently!)

Muslims are either violent radicals, or they are considered "backsliders" by their own religion and peers.

Any thoughts on the new book I'm hearing about "Tempting Faith"?

Sounds as though it is out to show how Bush uses Christianity to get what he wants.....blah..blah. I'm not reading it, but wonder if anyone has?
