Former presidential candidate and vice president Al Gore has recently signed a deal for his next book, the Washington Post reported yesterday. The Assault on Reason is expected to be published in May from Penguin Press.
According to editor Scott Moyers, the book is about how the public arena has grown more hostile to reason, and how societys unwillingness to let facts drive decisions impedes problem-solving in political and environmental concerns, the Post reported.
The Post said that, despite previously saying he has no plans to run for president in 2008, Gores timing of the upcoming book brings up the possibility, especially if it strikes a chord with Democrats and encourages them to push for a second bid for president from Gore.
Gore recently published An Inconvenient Truth in May, in conjunction with his documentary on global warming, and according to Nielsen BookScan, the book has sold more than 181,000 copies since.

I thought "Incontinent Truth" WAS an assault on reason. Oh, well, at least now he's describing his products honestly.

Yeah, "reason" means we take whatever he says at face value, and live like he wants us to, rather than as he does.

I agree with the premise of the title of his book, but the assault on reason seems to me to be coming from people that claim our President is the biggest terrorist in the world not to mention the myriad of other ignorant musings one hears on a daily basis concerning President Bush. The billboard shown this weekend of the President with bloody vampire teeth at the so called meeting of non-aligned nations indicates a total lack of reason and even childish behavior. What responsible adult diplomat would even consider talking with people of such low caliber. |

I remember that Press Conference after the mpeachment of his boss. Was AL the Assaultee or Assaulter? Clinton used his position/power to deny rights to an individual and in so doing violated his oath of office. I wonder if Xlintoons perjury and law license suspension were proof of partisanship or proper police enforcement?
Say Al is the EPA still dissing you over the lead containimation of Tennessee River? Is that a reasonable action?
