There are something like 20 Million unidentified illegal aliens in this country. What are we doing identifying each of the chickens?
"What are we doing identifying each of the chickens?"
Making a profit for Veri-Chip, while running the small-holder into the ground? ;)
It's a plot. If they get all the animals ID'd, then they can say, "You must be ID'd. All my animals are!"
once upon a time, the usda actually was helpful.

Anyone have the citations for these bills?
Thought y'all might be interested in this.
The really stupid thing is, if everyone actually reported the movements of every animal there's no way they could possibly make use of all the data. What they might use it for, though, is to take our animals, on the pretext of being on the safe side if there is a disease down the road.
Ranching is plenty of work without this. One breached fence or a few wandering calves and you'd be in for a mountain of paperwork at best. It might work for feedlot operations, but not open range.
Most "voluntary" programs end up being mandatory, 'cause they'd have to find something for the new hire bureaucrats to do...
Someone was joking about the USDA tracking every calf, and the USBP/INS/ICE having trouble tracking illegals-- maybe they should give them each a calf...
Thanks!
Here is an opposing view. No idea if it has merit. But since I trust NO Politician...

Thanks for posting this.
If Joel Salatin is saying that this is a bait-and-switch, I would take that to the bank.
Wonder if the House bill is the same or not....
We will probably see a whole lot more of this if this abortion goes through. (HatTip to freepatriot32)

Well, while you were all in a meeting, my farm here in Gladstone, VA was being invaded by USDA and they are still in the process of eradicating our herd. They swooped in at 5:00 am with nine cars/trucks of agents and started killing our hogs. We were given NO advance warning. The local Game Wardens are stunned because they had no idea until that very morning
they were made to provide 24 hour guards on our property. They are still here. Killing, removing by trailers and taking them away to be incenerated
we are not allowed on our piece of property for any reason; to take our own tests, pictures, etc. And the kicker is, they are taking any evidence we might have to refute their claims and burning it! We are sick and horrifed.
They also killed 2 of our pet hogs that were on a totally seperate piece of property in their own pen. They were not tested
only shot and drug out into our driveway with chains, leaving blood and marks on the ground from where they had been taken.
We have seen them high-fiving and on one of the trucks dirty back windows is a drawing of a cartoon pig with the words Hog Down! written.
Might I add, we are trumatized and angry. This site was found by a desperate desire to just understand what in the world has happened? In our country? By our own people? I am still stunned.

It reminds me of the ATF agents shooting the dogs and puppies at Mount Carmel which were the first shots fired in what ensued.
The slaughter in Gladstone needs its own thread, imho.
