Criticize, but don't exclude
International Herald Tribune ^ | SEPTEMBER 14, 2006 | Eugene P. Trani

RICHMOND, Virginia The Moscow and St. Petersburg I traveled to this summer stand in stark contrast to the Russia depicted by the media and politicians in the United States.

The Russia I visited was one of growing prosperity and innovation, progressive education and an economic strength not based exclusively on oil and gas.

It was a Russia uniquely positioned to forge solid partnerships for the war on terrorism, nuclear nonproliferation and energy - all vital issues for America.

But Russia intends to achieve its economic goals, even if that means doing so without the United States...

Sending military experts to Iraq to help guide Saddam to better kill our people.

Giving nuclear reactors to the mad mullahs in Iran to make bombs.

What more does one need to know about Russia?

Trani needs to put down the pipe and stop the threats. We've given more praise to Putin's Russia than it deserves.

Sending military experts to Iraq to help guide Saddam to better kill our people.

The three retired Russian generals you are referring to were independent contractors, without any connection to the government. They got into big trouble when they returned home.

Giving nuclear reactors to the mad mullahs in Iran to make bombs.

You cannot make bombs with a light-water reactor, and the one sold to Iran is exactly the same type we gave to mad man in North Korea. The heavy water reactor built by the Iranians at Arak is the problem. Russia does not support Iran developing the bomb. Iranian Nuclear Facilities: Arak and Natanz

What more does one need to know about Russia?

The truth.

Try telling that to most Americans and you will get laughed out the door. Americans read articles written by reporters witting in bars, and not out with the people. Their minds are already made up.

Correction, that should read, "Americans read articles written by reporters sitting in bars, and not out with the people."

Putin knew what was going on and did NOT do anything to stop it.

Putin knew what was going on and did NOT do anything to stop it.

You sound so certain of that, and I will bet you will provide a link to the article supporting that statement?

No matter what Putin does you rush defend him, coupled with Moscow's military support for America's most vile enemies in the expanded Axis of Evil (currently metting in Havana).

It defies logic why any 'real' American would go out of their to promote Moscow's international, anti-American agenda.

Nothing coming from a vile conspiracy theorist surprises me.
Secondly, I do not defend everything Putin does, which just proved you are a baldfaced liar.

I really don't care how "progressive" men are who give nuclear technology to the worst criminals on the planet, arm every hoodlum and tyrant, flak for them all diplomatically, and never perform the slightest act of any general utility to the rest of the world. As for their bright future, they are a future province of China with interesting museums and graveyards, and will be as relevant to 22nd century politics as the Hittites.

You can attempt to spin your very public pro-Moscow stance anyway you want, however the posted evidence on countless threads speaks to the real issue. You sold out.

Why? That is the question. Why do you jump to defend Russia's tyrant and attack anyone who exposes Putin's weapons sales to America's enemies.

It's not normal for loyal Americans to play PR front man for the Kremlin, but you on the other hand.......do!

Why?

"Americans read articles written by reporters witting in bars, and not out with the people. Their minds are already made up."

Scripted word for word, right out of anti-American Pravda - pure communist propaganda.
