If you are a Washington Husky fan (like me), and watched what the NCAA has done to the Husky football team, anything less then full sanctions would be manifest injustice.
Wetzel graduated with a political science degree from the University of Massachusetts.
At least U of Michigan had the class to "forget" all of the achievements of the Fab 5, impose its own sanctions, and basically turn its men's basketball program into a doormat for several years after similar problems were exposed.
After all, how does a player from a poor family end up driving a new SUV around campus? After he wrecked it, with a prize recruit in the passenger's seat (among others), it was tough to ignore....
So Petey Boy is running a crooked program. Best players money can buy.
Never. Gonna. Happen.
As with the University of Alabama. A completely fraudulent case brought us to our knees. If this is all true. Hang 'em high... Roll Tide
Nope, SC has been hit hard before like other big time programs. After the sanctions, Robinson went on to coach the Rams, getting a nice fat paycheck. If SC takes it in the shorts here, Carroll will be coaching in the NFL for more money than he was getting at USC and the program will take a nose dive for at least a decade.
Not to mention the crock of bull Illinois was put through a few years ago.
Sweet revenge. They got the coach that set them up and falsified information in the NCAAs 2 years ago (basketball).
I have a brother who was once a prize recruit. This was early 80s. The stuff he dealt with was amazing I can't imagine what it is like today.
(he tore up his knee his senior year of high school. Now he's full time an accountant and coaches football and baseball)
The only good thing to come out of USC is Mark Prior when his arm isn't falling off.
I think Carroll has burned through his NFL chances. He was a two time loser as a Head Coach in the NFL.
Of course the worst most crooked pile of dog poop coach is Gary Barnett.
The day he left Evanston was a good day.
Kind of like the police department in a Demo-Machine city.
Oh come on. Isn't Tom Seaver worth an honorable mention?
If true...throw the book at everybody involved.
o6ret (USC '82)
bump
Well, there is an outside chance that the university will avoid major sanctions here. A strong USC team makes the NCAA a LOT of $$$$$$$. Not to mention, the conferance, the big time non conference teams that get massive viewership from exposure in games with USC. This coming week's game with Nebraska is ESPN's game of the week. They are expected to pull HUGE numbers nationally. As much as the rest of college football loves to hate programs like USC and Notre Dame, they sure do love the money they make when they are on the field with them.
It is getting interestinger and interestinger.
