Jefferson City -- A judge struck down Missouri's new voter identification law Thursday as an unconstitutional infringement on the right to vote.
The law required voters to show a federal or Missouri-issued photo ID at the polls, which Cole County Circuit Judge Richard Callahan said was an unconstitutional burden on voters because the paperwork required to get those IDs is not free.
Callahan said the requirement is a particular burden to women and the poor. . . .

What is the cost for an ID card from the state? Ar most $10.00 every four years.
Is making someone responsible to pay $2.50 for proper ID such a great burden to keep fraud out of the voting booth?
Can they recall this judge?

Those whose name has changed, such as some married women, also must provide documents showing those changes. Can't we just take their word for it?

Does this mean photo ID's won't be required in November? They have advertisements everywhere to remind people. Some were even trying to show them last election.

Of course, nothing is free. They will increase registration fees or raise taxes on working people to pay for it.
But if it gets the illegals out, would be worth it.
I am not against gov spending money on things that actually make sense, like DEFENDING OUR BORDERS!

That wouldn't even be necessary...just make a free state issued ID for those that do not drive...but it wouldn't matter...if the Dimwits are relieved of this excuse, they will just find another one to prevent photo ID requirements...if they think we don't see right through this nonsense, they are even more stupid than they act.

The judge would only say the expense of traveling to the license office is too much.
Bet he is a Democrat.

We need a federal law requiring gov't issued photo id to vote in any federal election to take this out of the states venue...

I couldn't find any background information on this judge, but here's a picture of him taken during these hearings:

Is making someone responsible to pay $2.50 for proper ID such a great burden to keep fraud out of the voting booth? Whether or not it's a "great burden" is irrelevant. Requiring someone to pay a fee to vote is clearly prohibited by the Twenty-Fourth Amendment.
Of course, the correct solution is to waive fees for at least one form of acceptable identification, not to reject identification requirements altogether.

Free driver's licenses DOES make sense. Actually, driving is a privilege, not a right. Voting on the other hand is a right, not a privilege, so it is a bit of apples and oranges.
Democrat judges though are always looking at an excuse to strike this down as they know that it makes fraud less likely and that it hurts their chances of getting in Democrats in some elections.
The thing we need to do is to have states enact laws that requires voter ID's and charge a tax deductible fee for such ID's. If someone pays no taxes it would then be a tax credit and they get their money back that way.
But then they will find another excuse to throw it out.
