BS. America has freedom of speech, Europe is closed to freedom. That is why they hate themselves.

I don't see how The Last Samurai fits into that list of movies. It's not set in the west, it doesn't mention the west and it doesn't mention Christianity at all. I thought it was a great movie about the end of the samurai culture in Japan and nothing more nor less.

When they see the true church operating in the fullness of His Spirit, the multitudes will be running toward the church, not away from it.

Ephesians 3
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Very good article. He makes excellent points. It is time to lay the stones to rebuild what is not only crumbling, but shattering. This is a time for cultural and intellectual believers to be very God filled, committed warriors. It is a time for the courageous.

I recently read that one should pray for four hours a day. Four hours a day (we all laugh) I don't have the time. Then I thought about about all the hours I spend, even when I don't seem to have it pooping around on the web, or watching t.v or just generally self obsessed. They say prayer can change everything. Including the direction of the world. So I will try to pray at all times throughout the day.

Dinesh D'Souza has a new book coming out that covers this very topic.

http://www.randomhouse.com/doubleday/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780385510127

The Enemy At Home
The Cultural Left and Its Responsibilty for 9/11

In THE ENEMY AT HOME, bestselling author Dinesh D’Souza makes the startling claim that the 9/11 attacks and other terrorist acts around the world can be directly traced to the ideas and attitudes perpetrated by America’s cultural left.

D’Souza shows that liberals—people like Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Bill Moyers, and Michael Moore—are responsible for fostering a culture that angers and repulses not just Muslim countries but also traditional and religious societies around the world. Their outspoken opposition to American foreign policy—including the way the Bush administration is conducting the war on terror—contributes to the growing hostility, encouraging people both at home and abroad to blame America for the problems of the world. He argues that it is not our exercise of freedom that enrages our enemies, but our abuse of that freedom—from the sexual liberty of women to the support of gay marriage, birth control, and no-fault divorce, to the aggressive exportation of our vulgar, licentious popular culture.

The cultural wars at home and the global war on terror are usually viewed as separate problems. In this groundbreaking book, D’Souza shows that they are one and the same. It is only by curtailing the left’s attacks on religion, family, and traditional values that we can persuade moderate Muslims and others around the world to cooperate with us and begin to shun the extremists in their own countries.

TALLADEGA NIGHTS and GANGS OF NEW YORK attack Western civilization?

The author has little grasp of western civilization. The reason it's propsered throughout the ages is that its people are constantly re-examining and tossing out what is no longer of immediate or long term utility. That is to say, it isn't static and stuck in the 7th century.
