Was "support the troops" a common expression back then?
I bet it wasn't. I think that started with the gulf war.

I wouldnt believe Kerry if he said the sky was blue.
He was probably standing on Mars when he said it.

Unfortunately "Spit on the Troops" was more common then
"Support The Troops" during the rotten hippie-freelove and drugs era of the 1960's.

I pray to God our fighting men and women now never go through that at all or at least not to the degree that the returning Vietnam Vets had to.
