The only thing wrong with that Bush quotation, is he forgot to add "except for liberals" after the "we will not falter" part.

Yeah, 3000 people were killed, yeah it such an awfull tragedy that changed America forever. It changed my life as a 15 year old kid at the time.
What seems like salt on the wound to me is that we caught with our blind side to danger and our pants down, totally ignoring the reality of this world. We ignored the storm that was brewing out there for so long that it finally arrived on our door step on one September morning. Arabs had been at war with us long before the vast majority of us ever thought of it as just Israel's problem.
I never want this country to turn her back to danger again, for the next time, the jolt we get could be even more deadly and painfull.
