Abu Mazen: Jerusalem the Capital of Palestinian State 15:15 Sep 10, '06 / 17 Elul 5766

(IsraelNN.com) PA (Palestinian Authority) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) on Sunday released statements expressing a willingness to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

The PA opposition leader stated that Israel must however recognize “Palestinian rights,” adding Israel must realize there must be a Palestinian state with Jerusalem serving as its capital.

No offense to anyone (well, maybe a few) but sometimes I think someone should totally destroy both Jerusalem and Mecca at the exact same moment in time.

The Muslims are going to kill people until they rule both or both cease to exist.

Why not internationalize Jerusalem, make it an open capital for all the local governments laying claim to it, and also make it the capital, for all the religions that lay claim to it? That should prove very interesting!

Why should anyone talk to Abbas? He's only one step ahead of a Palestinian lynch mob.

Why not let Israel decide the fate of Jerusalem? Let them kick the IzlamoMuzziefags and not worry about it.

That's only true if by "one step ahead" you mean he's leading the mob. Abbas is a career terrorist. Which is why, I'm sure, many in the West believe he's a sincere peace partner.

No offense to you, but that ranks up there with just about the stupidest idea I think I have ever read on FR

Israel must realize there must be a Palestinian state with Jerusalem serving as its capital.

Like that will happen in the next 10,000 years.

I'll take 1/2 of your comment as a good idea.

I think someone should totally destroy Mecca...

Unfortunately, it may have to come to that, but that's life.

Interesting - It will be depending on what side of the issue each individual is on. Much is said of course in the Bible about this City, Jerusalem. God makes it very clear what He will do to those who have a hand in doing this to Jerusalem. People need to choose now based on the Word of God, what side they are on in all these regards.

Zechariah 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh!

Let's try Mecca and Medina first. Then Tehran and Damascus. The Muslims will come around.

Why not internationalize Jerusalem

Where do you live? Maybe that should be "internationalized" that too?

That's a great strategy - two at a time; plip-plop, plip-plop!

Actually, just getting Mecca would do it. Why punish Jerusalem, too?

Well, the Muslims seem to be real slow learners.

Bitch slap 'em left and right each time is my idea.

Although, in my saner moments, I really hope it doesn't have to come to that.

At some point, Israel will have to eminent domain all property holdings, except embassies, in Jerusalem, not owned by Jews. This does not mean driving the non-Jews out, just that all properties must be owned by Jews. East Jerusalem should be taken over by the government, and could be leased at nominal rates to its current non-Jewish owners.

This especially applies to all religious sites. In their case, however, such sites can no longer be used as residences by various holy men. They can rent apartments like anyone else.

The idea is to take away for good the claims that other religions, other nations, and other peoples have to property in Jerusalem. They may be very liberally allowed to use such sites, but the Jews must be firm. They are *not* "theirs". They belong forevermore to Israel and to the Jews.

The corollary to this is good behavior. If the management of the al-Asqa Mosque misbehaves, violates zoning rules, or encourages violence and civil disorder, the Israeli government could suspend their lease. In effect, taking a Mosque controlled by say, Wahabbis, and turning it over to Sufis for management.

The Wahabbis would be terrified with such a prospect. It would be a powerful incentive to behave.

Other religious sites, some managed by multiple Christian sects that also tend to be grasping and mean to each other, should also be taken. This would be of greatest benefit to pilgrims, as instead of several sects carving out their turf by the square centimeter and packing the pilgrims in; each sect could have the exclusive use of the site for several hours each day. With much more space for pilgrims.

Other than returning civility to the city, it would also be a definitive end to any argument of Jerusalem being the capitol of a Palestinian state. Israel should make it clear that this is no longer open for debate, any more than the "reasonable suggestion" that there would be peace if all the Jews would just leave Israel.

Because they want it and they will continue to kill everybody in their way until they get it.
