Cowards who attack by surprise usually don't have courage to confront directly.

I just don't get this guy... He escaped from a half-way house 2 days before they were going to release him. WTF????

You'd be amazed how common that is. My dad used to work at a halfway house. Everyone there was in the last 90 days of long sentences -- and if they couldn't obey the rules, they went back to prison for a minimum of two years.

Every few weeks, someone would make a run for it. 90+ percent of the time, the police would send a patrol car to keep an eye on the mother's house and the girlfriend's house, and the escapee would show up within 24 hours.

It's kind of mind-boggling, but if these folks had any notion of impulse control or of their actions having consequences, they would never have gone to prison in the first place.

If I were Bucky, I'd walk out of the woods with my hands up too. Nothing to lose, at least not the one thing that is important, getting to live. He knows there is no death sentence in NY, so he'll eat his 3 squares and fritter away his life watching TV and going to 'therapy' sessions in the clink where a bunch of liberal therapists will coddle him, and probably a bunch of whacky women will write letters to him asking for his hand in marriage.

Unfortunately, I'm sure you're right. Justice delayed is justice denied in my book, and the dead officer's family will have to live with the knowledge that the monster who deliberately took their loved one's life is living in relative comfort on their tax dollars and relishing his status as a folk hero to the deranged people who wore those "Go Bucky" T-shirts.

As for the whacky women who seem to come out of the woodwork to propose marriage to that kind of murderous scum, there has to be something missing between their ears if that's the kind of "man" they're attracted to. I know there are plenty of women out there who for some reason are attracted to men who they see as dangerous rebels against the normal social order. I don't pretend to understand that attraction, but those women are the ones who usually end up with a loser who they have to work to support while he hangs out in pool halls and runs around with other women in between jail sentences. And then he shows how he really feels about them by beating them up from time to time. I have seen that situation too many times in my 69 years among people who I am acquainted with and I still don't understand it. To each his own I guess.

"You can bet some sleazy lawyer will come up with some victim-hood defense scheme for this wimp....."

He's already started. Seems he has a long history of blaming others for the misfortunes that he's endured in his life...In addition to the ridiculous taxes in our sorry state of NY, there is no way the death penalty will ever be enforced. Bucky deserves nothing but a quick walk to the gas chamber, but it will never happen.

"The best outcome to this situation would have been for one of the arresting cops to have mistakenly believed that one of his upraised hands was reaching for a weapon."

Amen. I would have believed them. Sounds logical to me.

Yet, as a NY taxpayer, I get to contribute my tax dollars to clothe, feed and defend this scumbag...great...

I don't know if it's true, but I heard the Russians used to execute their condemned prisoners, then bill the families for the cost of the bullet and the burial. At least they got one thing right...

True, but just look at all the benefits you get for living there. You get to enjoy the exquisite pleasure of helping pay the salaries and expenses of your Senator's Clinton and Schumer you lucky dog (-:

Tell me about it. I used to wonder how the voters in MA could possibly repeatedly elect and reelect Kennedy and Kerry...then I moved to NY...it's embarrassing.

Not a "hero" to anyone I know in the southern tier. He was a friend and acquaintance to many though who knew him since he was a kid. Try to be careful with the crap the media puts out there. Mos of it is untrue or exaggerated or just biased.

Yeah but this POS is going to wear chains and restraints for the rest of his worthless life. Hope the ankle chains are about 6 inches long, and he has to ask mother may I to piss in the morning.

I doubt it. He could end up in solitary for years, if not life.
