I think the news on TV maybe 10 minutes ago was that they were still closing in
on the guy.

I just don't get this guy... He escaped from a half-way house 2 days before they were going to release him. WTF????
To: Lillee
When you are surrounded by many police officers and you have virtually no possibility of escape, a "surrender" is in effect a "capture".

Between his attitude towards the cops and theirs toward him, it sure didn't sound likely that he'd be captured alive.
To survive, the will runs strong.

"$20bucks says NO death penalty for this FPOS..."There's plenty of trees in the area, and what SHOULD have happened is to have found him having "hung himself in a tree"....
or....how about a dozen self-inflicted gunshot wounds?
You can bet some sleazy lawyer will come up with some victim-hood defense scheme for this wimp.....
To: txroadkill
That ranks right up there with the guy who had someone shoot him so he wouldn't go to Iraq where they would shoot at him.

Yeh...I thought it would be a shoot out. He's already killed one trooper. He's gonna fry either way.

Since he's in custody now, you've won the bet.
Not the Troopers I remember.

We rarely go for the death penalty here in NY. It's too expensive, too controversial and the appeals are never ending. Glad it's over.

Well, that's an easy bet for your to win since NY State's Death Penalty was thrown out by the liberal state courts.

they shoulda shot him...
my point was, the WORTHLESS prosecution in this state = NO EXECUTIONS.
not even for copkillers.
