Fugitive Bucky Phillips Surrenders
Fugitive Ralph Bucky Phillips has surrendered in a corn field near Carroll, N.Y., near the Pennsylvania State line. More to come.
Posting just for the comparison in SURRENDER and CAPTURED
I would trust the small town non-political interpretation SURRENDERS over the cnn hype CAPTURED in this thread.
The courts would overturn or commute any death sentence anyway. They did it with Lemuel Smith who then murdered a rookie female correction officer at Greenhaven. I was a new officer myself at the time, and being a female as well, it gave me something to ponder about having taken the job. Fortunately I stuck it out and retired a few years ago.
Buck? its Bucky.
Heh, tell that to CNN. I just copy and paste it, errors and all.
The Associated Press writes that a large contingent of police converged on the small town of Carroll early Friday. Carroll is a sleepy town along the New York-Pennsylvania state line.
According to reports, heavily armed special police units and troopers cordoned off an area in the rural town.
Shots were reportedly fired and police spoke with the owner of a golf course near the New York-Pennsylvania state line. The AP reports that Marge Bortz, the owner of Cable Hollow Golf Course in Warren County, Pa., said police told her they know Phillips is in the woods around the golf course and has fired shots.
The golf course is closed and there are reportedly 10 people locked in the clubhouse, including Bortz's family and three employees.
Just saw the news clip of him in the police car. Bucky's got a bald spot.
Noy in Nuevo Jerk any more..
Thank the "men in black" for that...
Find out who was helping him.
Ralph "Bucky" Phillips walked out with his hands up, ending the state's largest manhunt for the 44-year-old career thief who broke out of a Buffalo-area jail in April, New York State Police Investigator Gary Colon said.
The arrest capped a frantic day of searching that started with troopers firing at Phillips as he dodged authorities in a wooded area.
For hours, police had methodically moved closer to Phillips. Just before nightfall, 25 SWAT officers and 12 dogs swept through a cornfield where he was thought to be hiding. He gave himself up around 8 p.m., police said.
Phillips, who had threatened "suicide by cop" and once promised to "splatter pig meat all over Chautauqua County," was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list.

But I thought he'd "never be taken alive!"
His family.
It's true that inbreds tend to have very large extended families, but I'd think police would've have all of them under surveillance. How in the world did any of them ever get within shouting distance of him?
I remember hearing about that.
I live about 15 or so miles south of Greenhaven.
YEE HAWW!!!!!!!!
Nah....that was Sadaam Hussein....he sure put up a helluva fight, didn't he? /sarc
