Don't be overly optimistic. Kean needs to have 55% of the vote on a legitimate basis to overcome the inevitable election fraud.
It's a well-known fact (reported in the local newspapers as a "humorous" item) that, as late as the 1970s, most of the mechanical voting machines had been altered to record only 7-8 of every 10 Republican votes cast in Hudson County. That's in addition to the infamous "ticket system" and cemetary voting which continues to this day.
Furthermore, to register to vote in New Jersey, you need to provide no proof of residence, photo identification, or any other identification. A signature is all that is required. It's a 10 minute ride on the PATH subway to Jersey City from Manhattan.
Kean needs 55%.
I still can't stand Kean, by the way, given his refusal to support Rumsfeld and Vice President Cheney. Kean needs to start talking conservative values if he wants my vote on election day.
If you are any kind of conservative, you won't sit around and watch while Harry Reid takes control of the Senate.
