An angry Bill Clinton is demanding that ABC "correct all errors in its upcoming miniseries "The Path to 9/11 or pull it from the air.
In a letter to ABC boss Bob Iger, Clinton refuted several of the miniseries assertions, including that he was too preoccupied with the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal to care about Osama bin Laden.
"The content of this drama is factually and incontrovertibly inaccurate and ABC has the duty to fully correct all errors or pull the drama entirely, reads the letter, written by Bruce Lindsey, head of the Clinton Foundation, and Douglas Bond, a top lawyer in Clintons office.
The letter obtained by the New York Post also charges that the miniseries is a "fictitious rewriting of history.
Clinton aides have seen only a trailer from the six-hour miniseries, which airs on Sept. 10 and 11, the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. They have also received reports from political allies who have seen it.
Clintons office requested a copy of the docudrama, but the request was denied, Clinton spokesman Jay Carson told the Web site TPMCafe.com.
In one scene from the miniseries, an FBI agent and a CIA operative complain about red tape frustrating their attempts to pursue terrorists, according to a front-page story in the Post that refers to Clinton as "Bungle Bubba.
The movie then cuts to a close-up of Clinton maintaining that he did "not have sex with that woman Monica Lewinsky insinuating that the Lewinsky scandal was distracting him from the bin Laden threat.
Clintons letter notes that the 9/11 Commissions report concluded that he was "deeply concerned about bin Laden. In another scene, then-National Security Adviser Sandy Berger played by Kevin Dunn denies authorization to CIA agents about to capture bin Laden in Afghanistan.
I hea tht ABC is planning an American Funniest HomeMovies Marathon to fill the 8 hour void.
I too, think that ABC would fold but they have $40 Million. Money talks....
I know someone has already said this but hey, what the heck.
Hey clinton better put some ice on that.
"Sounds like the Democrats need to produce evidence that the assertions made in the program are NOT true."
If ONLY Sandy hadn't shredded those documents, eh?
Hey Bill....Pull my finger!
Not matter how much he spins it, Bill Clinton cannot change the facts about his do nothing presidency that lead to 9/11. Bill Clinton will be only remembered by his sex scandal with the intern Monica Lewinski. If you stop people in the streets and ask them tell me one thing you remember about Bill Clinton, the vast majority of them will say Monica Lewinski. Clinton and all his cronies cannot change this fact, he knows it very well, and it is killing him.
I had a debate with liberals via letters to the editor about this very same subject:
http://bmovies.blogspot.com/2006/08/they-published-but-edited-my-letter.html
"Parts of the movie are not authentic"
Yeah, the stain on Monica's blue dress has not been certified as authentic by Jocelyn Elders.
Hehehehehehe - someone post that picture of the 'hear no evil - see no evil.............Clinton and his dim witted, Arafat lovin, and appeasing cronys.
Today Bush called "the wall" between the CIA and the FBI as ridiculous.
I just wish people would just call it the "Gorelick Wall" then everyone knows exactly WHICH wall.
I have a feeling that ABC will either modify the show, i.e. lies about the facts in order to make Bill Clinton happy, or cancel the show all together. Do not be surprised that before the elections one of the networks will air the Liementary Fahrenheit 9/11.
"It depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is."
The interpretation of this statement depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is, gentlemen.
I agree...on another thread they heard the ABC is about to make an announcement....I guess we will know shortly.
This is the best advertising the show can get. Since there will be no sponsors the RATS can't even threaten a boycott.
Gorelick was on Fannie Mae's payroll while the Clintons were in office, to the tune of > $20 million. It was a sort of self-help program.
...." You know this is gonna make me look bad - and what about Hillary? This could hurt her too don't you see, when you voted for me you got both of us - we're a team!"
