IIRC, the "old" Jesse Jackson did.
But went over to the dark side for $ and votes.

I think I heard James Dobson say that he got to sit next to Jackson
at some function years ago. After pleasant conversation, Dobson
asked Jackson "what about that abortion stance?"
IIRC, Jackson simply said to Dobson something like "That's something
we'll never talk about".
