My kids liked him a lot and he will be missed. His show was great and this is an unfortunate loss.
:( gonna miss him...
I think Steve Irwin made a great case for allowing hyper children to be hyper and to become hyper (and extremely sucessful) adults.
YouTube video.
Loved that guy. Praying that he went out with his soul in good order.
Rest in peace Steve...
Me too - what a character. Just a decent, real person, a role model for those who follow their passion.
*sob*
Rest in peace, Steve.
And prayers continue for Terri, Bindi Sue and Bob - as well as for Wes and the rest of your close-knit crew at Australia Zoo.
Steve Irwin didn't simply "fool with Mother Nature", he mocked her! That bit when he fed the croc while holding his infant son: in the follow-up, when asked if he thought that bit dangerous, Irwin said "When I am in front of that croc, I am in complete control. I'm a professional." Nobody is in "complete control" of anything - pay attention when a politician speaks. Only a fool thinks he is in control of anything wild - be it a creature or the weather. It's a wonder Mr. Irwin lived as long as he did. While he is well thought of for the many good deeds he done, he needs to be remembered as the fool who showed us what line not to cross.
No kibbles this morning, Manfred?
Those poor little kids. I can't imagine losing a parent so young. Fortunately, they will be able to see and remember his zest for life through the years to come.
To post this crap on a memorial says plenty about your character. Irwin was a very kind person who does not deserve your salty remarks.
As much as I enjoyed his show and am saddened by his death, I must agree. Irwin crossed the line in recent years from adventuresome and courageous to foolhardy. He was always looking for a bigger adrenaline rush, and seemed to believe that he, not nature, was in control.
That being said, this was really a freak accident, because sting rays are usual docile and only attack if they feel they are being attacked. When they hit anyone with their barbs, it is usually in the leg or foot. Unfortunately, Steve's got it in his chest and pierced through to his heart. Really a freak accident. Rest in peace Steve. Prayers for your family that you left behind.
ah yes...Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him
Very fitting.

I used to yell at the tv screen, "You idiot!!! Watch out!!!" But Steve always entertained us.
He left this world with the creatures he loved being around.
