The fugitive shot and wounded a State Trooper in Elmira NY on March 10. Unbelievable how many locals have regarded him as some sort of "folk hero".

When a scum killed a deputy in my neck of the woods, everyone was hoping he'd show up on their property. All of us would have snuffed him without a moments thought, and the local sheriff would have bought us a cup of coffee for doing it.

Gee, what exactly qualifies for "high-powered" rifle rounds nowadays?
Anything over a .22?
I've always said that some nut that knows how to use a scoped 30-06 or even a .270 can be much more of a killer than the typical "assault" rifles.
I will be extremely shocked if this guy does not end up at ambient temperature by the time this is all over.
