GWB's wish list - DISSATISFIED WITH DEAN
Townhall ^ | 09/02/06 | Robert Novak

Posted on 09/02/2006 4:37:10 PM PDT by JerseyDvl

Lifetime Democratic contributors have made good on their threat to stop giving money to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) so long as Howard Dean is its chairman. Some of the party's longtime money men warned that would happen when Dean took over the DNC following the 2004 elections. Lower contributions, combined with Dean's heavy spending, have resulted in the most recent cash-on-hand report by the DNC of $11.3 million, compared with $43.6 million at the Republican National Committee.

I did a search and didn't see this posted. I really was taken aback at these COH figures. I am more and more optimistic about these mid-terms everyday!

Oh, that's fine with me OF. She can have her seat if we win the majority of the rest.
I want to hear that Rahm Emanuel is pissed the Wednesday after the election and calling for Dr. Dementos head.
That will make my '06.

Not good to alienate your greatest contributors. Even Soros, as I understand, has bailed. That is some serious cash they are going to go without. Babs can't bail them out with that kind of loss.

"...$11.3 million..." Only?

Chump change, IMO (Ha!) The GOPers-RINOs have a boatload more in coffee cans, buried in the backyard garden, I've heard.

the klintinoids are not the lefty crazies though, can we say "split party"?

One faction will eventually have to win, and that will leave the other faction dispirited. IMO, that is what is happening in CT with Lieberman. The wackies are for Lement, the 'noids quietely may be supporting lieberman

If the wackies win, HClinton looks bad, if the 'noids win, then there goes 12% of the "D" base.

Keep up the good work Dean :)

Unfortunately this article didn't tell the whole story, which may give Republicans an inappropriately rosey picture.

Far more money is going into PAC's than the parties. These donors probably just donated the same amount of money into pacs instead of to the Democrat party.

Why didn't Novak out Armitage early on? It could have been done in any number of ways not easily and directly traceable to him. I guess journalists who are anti-Iraq War have different standards of honor than the average person.

He did; he said it was a high ranking administration official /not/ part of the White House. The speculation at the time was that it was either CIA (doubtful) or State (most likely.)

And it turned out to be State. What a shocker.

I don't believe this story at all.

We're making a big mistake to think they're not raising many many millionsl

Of course they are raising large amounts of money. The afl granted 40 million to somebody over in D never neverland today.

However unless they can co ordinate themselves "Leave now" or "We are less safe" they will be working at cross purposes..

Being a "former" Vermonter, I am quite familiar with Howard "The Nut Case" Dean.

He somehow got himself elected as Lt. Gov. under a very good Pub Governor (Richard Snelling) who sadly died of a heart attack which allowed Deaniac to assume the Governorship.

By then, Bernie Sanders (who had "migrated" from NYC) and his merry band of Sandanistas-Socialists (they called themselves "Progressives") had somehow bamboozled the Legislature to pass legislation allowing students (WHO WERE NOT RESIDENTS OF VERMONT) the right to vote in Statewide and National elections.

Of course we all know what the mindset is in most Colleges and Universities and thus Howie got reelected and reelected until he decided to retire to make his run for the White House.

Vermont went from a rather moderate/conservative State when I was growing up in the 50s'/60's to one of the most Liberal States in the Country, by the mid to late 80's when I moved back after having been away for 20 years.

It just got so (as one of about 37 Conservative out of 500,000) I could no longer stand living there and last year, I finally moved.

I say the Dims/Rats deserve him and he is the "Poster Boy" of everything the Democrats stand for.

Oh, that's fine with me OF. She can have her seat if we win the majority of the rest.

I've never been moved by the lame stream media's trumpeting of a sea change in 06.

This simply will play into the Clinton's overall planning, which is actually rather transparent, unlike the absolutely scurrilous Whitewater accounting scam.

Do they want this?

or this?

If the dems fail in 06 - under Dean - it will strenghten the Clinton's position within the Democtrat party as the candidate who can deliver results.

If Bill were to die, do you think Hillary could be elected by herself? byw. Rahm Emmanuel was saying this week that move.on.org is not raising enough money, either.

No, Novak cannot use that as an excuse. The story started with him and before Fitzgerald. He knew the truth and kept his mouth shut while others had their reputations and finances ruined. He is just a self-serving type with no sense of responsibility to anyone except himself and his profession.

No wonder the Bohemians lost the battle of White Mountain.

Both Novak and Fitzgerald should go and go soon. There is no way they can justify what they concealed.

To put it simply, no.

If Bill were to die, then Hillary would just be another in a long line of ugly democrat politicians.

IMO, her career would be over, as far as upward mobility.

Did you read the whole article? Dems aren't giving to the DNC, but they are giving in record amounts to the DCCC & the DSCC.

The DNC doesn't matter in mid-terms nearly as much as the DCCC & DSCC do. These numbers scare me.
