Pigs are flying by my window
While the Washington Post trashed Wilson, unless I missed it, nowhere does the NYT state that there was anything wrong with Wilson's claims. They're still covering for him, and their still giving Fitzgerald a pass...

"Since this weeks disclosures about Mr. Armitages role, Bush administration officials have argued that because the original leak came from a State Department official, it was clear there had been no concerted White House effort to disclose Ms. Wilsons identity.
But Mr. Fitzgeralds defenders point out that the revelation about Mr. Armitage did not rule out a White House effort because officials like Mr. Libby and Karl Rove, the senior white House adviser, had spoken about Ms. Wilson with other journalists.
Now if this makes the non Fox Sunday shows, with Schumers contribution featured, all pigs will fly
Read the article more carefully.
At no time does the NYT trash Wilson. They even report the allegations he made in his July op-ed, then leave them hanging in the air...without noting that Wilson's allegations were totally discredited.
They're not even trashing Fitzgerald. They are simply raising questions about his behavior. I suspect, instead, they are in fact setting up a defense against the government prosecutor who calls them on their role in revealing the NSA and SWIFT intelligence gathering programs.
What a bunch of pansy-ass traitors.
I just bought world series tickets for the Cubs for 07.
I think NY SLIMES and Wash Compost doing this is the 6th sign and the Cubs winning is the 7th.
Same here.
Imagine what Judith Miller must be thinking.
not only is it flying,
it's doing a barrel roll!
LOL
Someone down thread has probably pointed this out.
WAPO and the Times are mad at Wilson and Fitzgerald, all right. However, it's not for deception, lying, wasting our time, etc. It is for not delivering the goods and teasing them with hopes of victory over Bush. They ALL were played...
They don't have any choice. They tried their usual trick of simply ignoring the news but that wasn't cutting it. So now they report the news and pretend their earlier advocacy of an investigation doesn't exist.
The Post reports on Friday and The Times reports on Saturday. Both obitiuary days for news they have to report but hope nobody will see. "Now can't we just MoveOn.org?
Note that they are doing this right before a long holiday weekend, in an attempt to bury it.
If Tony Snow doesn't make a big deal of it, when he returns next week, this thing will be pretty much gone forever after this weekend.
They're trying to cover their own asses. They are as guilty as anyone by participating in an obviously fraudulent political witch hunt. The only good news is that their circulation and stock prices continue to sink into the tar pit of historical irrelevance.
