Maybe they should read his speeches more carefully. I was in Fallon for his speech there. I didn't get the impression that his WWII references had anything to do with Iraq. His WWII references had to do with Iran and this tide of Islamakazis that we can either face now or bury our heads in the sand and wait for the big boom.

What these dems are says is nonsensical. The defeat of the axis powers took 4 years after the US got involved, but this is different to the 3 weeks it took to topple Saddam. As for the insurgency, does Pelosi advocate we bomb the hell out cities we suspect of insurgency/terrorist activities the same way we bombed enemy cities in WWII? I bet that would be a quick way to end this insurgency. Of course, I am sure Pelosi would be against any of that. These Dems MUST be defeated at the ballot box, AGAIN!!!!
This is AP spin. Rumsfeld didn't "reach out" to anyone. He simply challenged Rats to back up their assertions, in the friendliest possible way of course.
Although I agree that Islamofacist are very similar to the Nazis and other Facist in that era, there is a huge difference that not too many people are talking about.
At least with Hilter, Stalin, et al, they fought with real armies against the Allied armies. The Islamofacists today don't dare challenge any civilized nation in the West or Europe because they know how quickly they will be smashed into dog food. So instead they pick on civilian targets hiding behind women's clothing, using children as shields, sneaking onto civilian airlines and plowing them into buildings or blowing them up over the seas. They car bomb funerals as well as weddings of civilians in their own countries and somehow think it is glorious and honoring to their false god. The are in other words COWARDS.

If the moderate Muslims who want themselves and their children to live in peace and happiness, they must be the banner bearers and GET IT INTO THE HEADS OF THE TERRORISTS that their view of a world under Sharia law and Islam, will NEVER happen.
I agree -- the radical Islamic terrorists are several orders of magnitude worse than the Nazis or communists.
I think Bush and Rumsfeld are talking about the Nazis, to try to get some points across to the people, who can't comprehend the evilness of the terrorists, people tend to have at least some clue that "fascism is really bad", without knowing a lot about history. The problem is that only a small fraction of the general population was alive during WW II, so even that doesn't sink in.
I think most people can't really comprehend the severity of the threat we are facing.

1. When did we start fighting the Nazis?
If you use their declaration of war on US that started on 9 Dec 1941.
If you use the undeclared naval war, where we shot at U-boats, and U-Boats shot, hit, and SANK American Warships then you have to back up a year.
2. What was the size of the American Army that defeated the Nazis?
Will the democrats actively support with votes in Congress building up the American ground forces to that level? A “Yes” means every vote; a “No”ends the debate.
3. What ends the war?
Defeat of organized forces?
Defeat of organized resistance?
Note: The US Army fought a war against organized Nazi-Party based resistance to Allied occupation forces from 1945 through the early 1950s. Googol “werewolves” and “US Constabulary Corps”
