The country has insisted that its nuclear program is aimed only at producing energy, a task that would use uranium enriched at much lower levels than that found by the IAEA inspectors.

Since what was found is higher grade than what is needed for producing energy.... (It sometimes helps to read the article.)

Yes, I read it. But I just reread and noticed that -- in fact -- the article did use the term "highly enriched" in the first paragraph. And the quote you used is accurate, though it also states that they are producing low levels of uranium.

I have read that Iran lacks enough gas centrifuges to generate enough highly enriched uranium for a bomb (a few kilograms are needed if I remember correctly). Anyway, good catch - I made a mistake.
