Gov. Jeb Bush issued a state of emergency because of the possibility that Hurricane Ernesto could threaten the state.

Snap, snap!

Pay attention here Nagin. This is how you are supposed to do it...

All of the GOP contenders for Gov. are claiming that they are "in the tradition of Jeb Bush." He's got coattails even though he's leaving office.

ABC News is giving the same "big-as-Katrina" hype. My money says it is a max of two. (I only leave home for 3s and up.)

Thank God for Jeb. However, we are pros here in Florida, unlike those amateurs in New Orleans. Like the Boy Scout Motto says: Be prepared!

Generator is checked out and running OK and we'll start bringing things in tomorrow. Don't think we'll need to board up here in Central Florida. The models are saying it will be a cat 1 (hopefully just a cat 1 or less) when it hits. I hope, if it does hit, it scoots along and gets out of here. Don't want another Frances.

The secret was let out an hour ago. Bush can call God to cast hurricanes on his enemies.

Does anyone remember the dimrats or media or ANYone getting upset in 1992 when Hurricane Andrew devastated Florida - and the governor REFUSED to declare a state of emergency for 5 days afterward?

Oh, me bad - that was Gov. Chiles - a democrat. no harm,no foul...(And yet, Pres. Bush declared Katrina an emergency 2 days BEFORE Katrina, a move unprecedented, but Blanco and Nagin...well, we all know the truth)

I like Jeb Bush. He was raised with the same core values as "W" - he's solid -

He is -- by far -- the best governor in the USA and -- if it weren't for his last name -- he'd be our next president.

got that right!

(damn right...)

He ought to declare a state of emergency over the way his buddies at big insurance are cornholing Florida residents.

Ain't that the truth.

Thanks for the ping.

I've been monitoring since it became a TD, and will probably not begin active involvement until 24 hours before landfall in the US.
