Polls - Murtha Vs. Irey (Vanity question)
http://sorrynourl.com ^ | SoCal_Republican

Posted on 08/26/2006 2:34:01 PM PDT by SoCal_Republican

Has anyone seen any polls in the Irey/Murtha contest? I am a decent amateur googler, but I have not been able to turn up anything. I am taking this as a good sign - just like how there was no mention of the Independent Lieberman/Lamont polls during the primaries (Joe up ten points or more). Of course MSM Indie Lieberman/Lamont polls are starting to pop up now that Lamont only trails by two points.

Thanks for any Intel.

I don't think there are any SCR. In fact I am positive after having posted on a thread with Coop who has the following tagline:
posted on 08/26/2006 12:49:39 PM PDT by Coop (No, there are no @!%$&#*! polls on Irey vs. Murtha!)

The fact that they haven't been made public speaks volumes on where the traitor stands.

Using professional Googling skills, I have failed to turn up any polls regarding Irey.

There have obviously been polls taken by Murtha. He most likely is doing a daily tracking poll. It should be apparent that the poll's trend is not to Murtha's liking.

Irey at this point is not likely to be spending money on polls. They are expensive and she needs every dollar she can get her hands on to run ads and cover the expenses of her campaign.

Murtha has a ton of money.

Why would Murtha not publish his poll? I doubt that if at this time Irey is leading. But I would bet my bottom dollar that the trend is going the wrong way for Murtha. Lets say that Murtha was 20 points ahead last week. But he is losing support at the rate of 1.5 points a week and there are 15 weeks until election. If he starts releasing polls they are going to show the trend. Then the stories would start that Irey just might win. He can not let that happen.

So he must find a way to reverse or at least slow the trend. If he can reverse the trend you can bet he will release his poll. That is why he is trying to find people who will campaign for him. But those he asks to support him will also ask to see the polls. And the answer he gets .. I am way to busy to campaign for you Jack. Murtha has had little luck finding people to support him.

Murtha needs to change the subject. To prevent that Ivey needs the funds to keep his Cut and Run record on the table.

Polls would not tell Irey anthing that watching what Murtha does won't tell her. But watching what Murtha does tells us the same thing.

It will likely be a close race. It will take a great effort. But Murtha can be beat. Murtha no longer has control of his victory or defeat... Irey does but she needs help. Voters tend to vote for someone.. not against. So Irey needs to define herself with ads .. and that my friends takes bucks.

If there's been a poll conducted by the media, it must not be good for Burka Murtha.

Support Diana Irey. Those ads and bucks can retire Murtha.

There aren't any if you want to see one call up a polling outfit and request to purchase one. If you pay them I am sure they will gladly do one.

You know, I have been proud to say that I have only donated to political campaigns twice in my life, and they were both to the Swift Boat Vets ;) I just sent a donation to Irey (thanks jazusamo). By the way, I had not seen a pic of her before. Rowrrrrrrr! I call to all my brother minimalist donors out there to join the cause.

Thank you for contributing to Mrs. Irey's campaign. I am very much like you in that I have contributed to but a few over the years.

When she announced she would run against Murtha and I read what she stood for I couldn't help support her fast enough. She is not only a fine looking woman but a very smart one. Hopefully Murtha will have the guts to debate her but I doubt it, if he does she'll rip him.

If you would like to be on the Irey-Murtha ping list let me know and I'll ping the keepers of it.

Thanks again.

Please add me to the ping list. How could Murtha get away with not debating his challenger? A Republican would be crucified for such a move. Of course, it would make for a great campaign commercial.

Please add SoCal_Republican to the Irey-Murtha ping list.

On the debate we'll see what developes but some print media in the area are pretty pro Murtha. He'll pay a price if he doesn't debate but he might figure it'll be less than if he does. I'm sure much will be made of it by the Irey campaign if he won't debate.

Thank you Jaz and SCR. I've added the name, but Smooth is the only one pinging now.
