HuffPo Writer Yearns for Terror Attack

The Huffington Post (your one stop shop for the looniest of the moonbatosphere) today features a piece by Russell Shaw wishing for a major terrorist attack on America.

Because it will allow Democrats to regain power: I Hope And Pray We Don’t Get Hit Again-BUT... (Hat tip: Killgore Trout.)

What if another terror attack just before this fall’s elections could save many thousand-times the lives lost?

I start from the premise that there is already a substantial portion of the electorate that tends to vote GOP because they feel that Bush has “kept us safe,” and that the Republicans do a better job combating terrorism.

If an attack occurred just before the elections, I have to think that at least a few of the voters who persist in this “Bush has kept us safe” thinking would realize the fallacy they have been under.

If 5% of the “he’s kept us safe” revise their thinking enough to vote Democrat, well, then, the Dems could recapture the House and the Senate...

Now can we question their humanity?

What the liberals are too stupid to realize is that another attack WILL HURT THE DEMS MORE.

If we are attacked .. it will prove GW was right from the beginning. The dems will scream Bush didn't keep us safe .. but we can trot out all the VOTES THE DEMS MADE AGAINST ANYTHING TO KEEP US SAFE - like the Patriot Act (which Reid boasted he killed); the NSA wiretap leaked by the NYT (which was used in the latest foiled plane bombing); the Swift money plan - again leaked by the NYT (and a great source of several other foiled plots).

Another attack WILL NOT HELP THE DEMS! It will only point up how ridiculous their theory is that the WOT doesn't even exist.

This article has two purposes that I can see:

1. To encourage Terrorists to attack "just before the election" so the Republicans lose power.

Or failing that...

2. To encourage other Democrats at large to fake a Terrorist attack "just before the election" and even if the fake gets discovered later it will be too late in regards to the election because it will be over and the Democrats would have won.

And to fake a Terrorist attack to affect the election would not take much, a couple of car bombs in the early morning hours of election day in States that are close calls election-wise, which would also send shockwaves throughout the country for the Democrats to benefit from.

To me this article amounts to open treason and should be prosecuted.

I think we should evaluate this from an objective perspective, and not one of emotion or partisanship. For quite some time, we have seen a number of articles posted on FR about the lack of control/security at the border and warning of a possible attack by terrorists coming into the US posing as Mexicans. This argument should not be new.

The only thing new is that the leftists are picking up the argument and salivating over it at the prospect of regaining POWER!! Nothing else. We have complained bitterly about the prospect of a terrorist attack and the detrimental affect that it could have on the current crop of Republicans in POWER.

So, basically, what the HuffPo has done is reveal the level of power that terrorists, who might be planning an attack this fall, wield. It is, potentially, in their hands as to how the elections turn out. If you were a terrorist, what would you be thinking right about now? Were it me, I'd be thinking "Do I want the Republicans who will fight us everywhere they can back in control, or do I want the Democrats who will run every chance they get?" Then, I'd start firing up the bomb-making factory and crank'em out as fast as I could.

A LOT of conservatives are angry at what passes for conservative "leadership" in Washington and plan to "send a message" by voting for their conservative representative's opponents. Well, I'm angry, too. But let me ask a question, if we're not happy with the Republicans (yes, even the RINOs) in Congress, how will voting for Democrats and, potentially, shifting the POWER structure on Captol Hill, going to make things better? What improvements will they make? Are higher taxes, cut and run, government health care, a ban on home schooling, etc., etc., ad nauseum, the policies we really want? Are these going to make life in the US any better; get the borders closed any faster?

I suggest that we are better off to stay with "the ones what brung us" and hope that the sheer volume of our numbers is sufficient to get their attention. If not, there is always Hillary and '08.

I would say that he should be ashamed of himself. But shame is something liberals are entirely incapable of feeling when it comes to something they actually participated in. I was going to say something they are responsible for but they also lack any sense of personal responsibility.

Lefties can feel shame for slavery, Hiroshima, George Bush being president, and so-called Aids epidemic in Africa but have no shame when it somes to things they believe, say, and do.

This is exactly why the democrats can't win elections. They continue thinking opposite of the way most Americans think. Another terror attack would guarantee republicans holding on to power for the next 20 to 50 years, or at least until the WOT is over..

Back, then, to the same old questions...once in power, what is the Democratic plan to keep us safe?

Do we pull out of Iraq and leave it to certain civil war, and also take away a check to Iranian aggression?

Do we leave Afghanistan to allow the Taliban to return to power?

Do we allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons?

Do we open our borders completely so that everyone can come here?

Do we ignore North Korea and pull out of South Korea and leave it to its fate?

Do we stop importing oil and allow the economy to adjust on an emergency basis for the next generation?

Tell us, what you would do with your power...maybe 5% of us will like your plan, if you would only just tell us.

Do we impeach the president?

Do we search for Karl Rove's weather machine?

How can you hope to win against a political machine that orchestrated the 911 attacks, brought on global warming, and caused massive amoutns of homeless people within the first 6 to 9 months of office.
