Strange to say after I posted a thread on a similar murder in the UK - usual stuff, slit throat, beheaded, blood everywhere, watched by her young children; several FReepers, sadly some from the UK refused to see a Muslim linkage. I have to say I was very surprised.

I think I am right in saying we have about 20 such murders a year in the UK and many more sent back to Pakistan to ''disappear'.

This line from the NYT article also caught my eye:

A few days after Ms. Saleem’s body was found, a young Italian woman was found dead in a Brescia church. A Sri Lankan immigrant who assisted the priest has been arrested in the case.

Now I suppose it's not likely that the Sri Lankan was Muslim - according to the CIA Muslims are only 7.6% of the population there, but this year is the 1160th anniverary of the Sack of Rome and St Peter's by the Saracens (info courtesy Mr Edward Gibbon!) What goes around comes around.

Keep in mind that terms we're used to are used differently in their "enlightened" Islamic culture.

Murder, to us humans, generally means the taking of life without due process (with due process being either self-defense or a trial).

Murder in Islam is the taking of innocent life, with innocent life being defined as a Muslim believer in good standing with the society. That's why the Muzzies can condemn murder and the taking of innocent life all they want in the Middle East, yet keep killing Jewish civilians.

The killing of this poor girl, who appeared to be attempting to follow the liberal solution and integrate into mainstream European culture, definitely did not meet the Islamic definition of murder - it was more like stepping on a bug in your house, so the above statement may well be the truth (in Islamic eyes), but has nothing to do with this action, which to them was simply "pest control".

Pakistani father killed his daughter to redeem his honor, with family approval (celebrating -- the aunt bought a new dress), a few months after 9/11. I think they lived in Michigan. Unfortunately for Pop, the feds had wired the apt. since he was part of a charity fronting for Islamofascists....al Qaeda. So when he called 911, claiming his daughter had confronted him with a knife, demanding $5K, they knew what had really happened. The teenager begged for her life, tried to get her mother to help her, but Pops shot her dead. (Her sin was dating a non-Muslim and working at MacDonald's after school, where she was an honor student.) DA allowed a plea bargain, so Mom didn't go to jail. Pop died in jail of a heart attack. They should have convicted the aunt, too. The feds had recorded a phone call where they'd discussed killing the girl, and the aunt said she'd bought a new dress to celebrate.

What a depraved culture.

I guess murdering your own daughter and burying her out back in your garden doesn't "stain" the family honor as badly as her smoking, wearing low-slung jeans and dating an infidel.

This is one sick culture. These people should be in cult deprogramming, not running around loose!

If they do not want their children acting in a western manner, why do they come to the west? Why not stay in Pakistan where the chance of their pretty daughter wearing western jeans and living with an Italian guy are, essentially, nil?

That is a great summation. That is what it seems the individual moo is acting out. But we know that is the small picture and unfortunately the one we individual humans have to grapple with on our level.

However in the big, big picture people like this moo family are merely infectious spores sent out from the mothership. Individually they are very dispensable to the mothership but that is ok because when enough land and stick and multiply in what we know as the free world the infection will set in.
