IRA's top bombers teach Muslim extremists how to kill our boys
(The Express On Sunday Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge ^ | [August 21, 2006] | n.k.

IT IS the axis of evil most feared by the security services - veteran, cool-headed Irish terrorists teaming up with Islamic extremists.

Now, in the wake of the failed bid to blow up 10 transatlantic aircraft, the Sunday Express has pieced together the links between the two groups that signal a new era of terror.

There is also a further potent mix to the pot - former special forces' soldiers-turned-mercenaries from Britain and the US who are willing to sell their deadly expertise to the highest bidder.

The Sunday Express has learned:

Continuity IRA terrorists have visited Iran and Syria to sell bomb-making secrets to Hezbollah and Al Qaeda.

Roadside bombs used to kill British troops in Iraq are thought to have been created with the help of Irish bombers.

British students are being recruited for Iran-backed terror camps in South Africa.

Renegade former British special forces' soldiers are being lured by Islamic terror groups to pass on their secrets at terror training camps.

Terror groups are establishing camps in Britain, similar to the ones used by the IRA in the Irish Republic.

A former special forces soldier, now a mercenary, told the Sunday Express: "The Islamic terrorists are well financed and expanding their operations but they lack the professionalism and skills of groups like the IRA.

"They are beginning to realise that and so they are willing to pay for the expertise. That is why they are turning towards experienced and battle-hardened Irish terrorists, who have been made redundant by the peace process.

"There are an awful lot of Irish bombmakers looking for work, cash in hand and no questions asked.

"The roadside bombs turning up in Iraq have mercury-tilt mechanisms and laser triggers - the methods used by Irish terrorists in Northern Ireland at the height of the Troubles. The next logical step is that they will work with Islamic extremist terror cells here.

This is a spin off from the recent thread below - Zechariah_8_13 suggested it was posted now on F.R. even though it is 'old' news.

Only too pleased to be able to do so. I do not think this has been posted before ( but I stand ready to be corrected).

The IRA has long been involved in helping PLO bombers and also in the Philippines working with the Abu Sayef terrorists in that area.

Yes, I didn't pay this article much attention because I always assumed it was so.

Still, it we need to be reminded of these things.

Not least it is a heritage of (mainly) American Democrat financial support over the decades.

The bombs don't ask whether a potential victim is British before going boom; this stuff has to be hurting America even more than Britain. What beef does the IRA have with America? Why do they want to tempt the eagle's reprisal?

Very true.Worthless psychopaths tend to seek each other out.I'm surprised that the Brits don't make an exception to their death penalty ban for scumbags like this and for the likes of the 7/7 bombers.

totally agree - it's indiscriminate murder. I figured that this was as much applicable to US as UK.

the Kennedy's were well known for funding the IRA. How much of that is true now, who knows? does anyone have info on this?

-but for sure this is a part of their (and Democrat) even larger legacy of death. The chickens have come home to roost and they are implicated int he murder of their own soldiers. Yet I hear they sleep easy.

People do not do suicide bombings and other terrorist things for any sort of a cause; they do them because they're ****ed-up people. This is not surprising, given that realization.

What beef does the IRA have with America?

They're terrorists. You might as well ask what beef Al Qaeda has with the US. Does it matter? If they have a 'legitimate' beef does that make it ok to bomb people? The IRA have always been on the same level as Al Qaeda. They're all murderous bastards who need to be destroyed. It should surprise no one that they are working on the same side.

Yes, I understand that a large number of people were killed and others suffered greatly from the horrific attacks made over a long period of time. I certainly was not trying to minimize these facts.

I'm curious as to how your Labour Party is trying to achieve what they failed to do. While I am aware of the "Troubles", I have to admit I am ignorant on many details.

Amazing and very disturbing. That's called sharpening the axe for the executioner.

Wonder which catherdrals the IRA wants converted to mosques first in Ireland and which stadiums reconfirgured for better viewin of the stoning women?

Oh and forget the beer, whiskey and pubs guys. Gone, done nada.

Oh no, i never thought you were for a moment - no, no, I was underlining what you had said. Sorry if there was any confusion.

I often see your posts and know you are a man of integrity.

On the Irish troubles there are many more knowledgeable than me. Irish Thatcherite for one and Irish Mike for another..

But it is essentially as left / right thing. The right wing want the six counties to remain in the UK and the left wing want them to go to a united Ireland (IRAland?). The history is virtually incomprehensible to outsiders with its arcane symbolisms, loyalties and counter loyalties. There is an Irish ping where some good stuff is posted. It is not high volume.
