I was just looking for concerts that might be fun to attend at ticketmaster.com...browsing, really, and found this...much to my amusement.
Funny how I've seen and heard NONE OF THIS on the local TV news or even the radio....if the Vichy Chix can't sell tix in liberal South Florida, they're in deep trouble.

Funny how totally the DCs have totally p****d away their career. Even if they apologized at this point, none of their old fans would believe them, and there aren't enough "new friends" to come even close to making up the difference.

They are in deep trouble. Groups get chicken sh*t from CD sales, even if they were as popular as the Dixie Hens. The record companies cash in on CD sales. "Popular" groups (not the Hens) make their money from concerts.

VH1 is trying to help all they can. They have it rigged to get their video #1 for the most consecutive weeks ever in the vh1 top 20.
It's a joke really. If anyone believes that's the number 1 video for 10 weeks in a row, then I have a bridge to sell them in lower NY.
Let's just hope some of the concerts blow up in ther face come election time. And I pray she says something else very stupid to help the President.

DC's are one of the few groups that actually make money on CDs. They fought it out with Sony/BMG and won. Right after Sony agreed to pay them more she trashed the President and their sales plummetted. So Sony got the short end of that stick.

You are right. Most major label bands make pennies per CD. The record company will charge them for videos, payola, and all the session musicians needed. The only way a band like the Dixie Chicks makes money is merchandising or endorsements. Even touring is a money loser because of all the people you need to hire, feed, transport, and keep in a hotel, as well as the cost of putting on the show.
