Too bad we can't get a morning after pill for bills we don't like.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.
WASHINGTON - On Monday, President Bush endorsed over-the-counter sales of a morning-after pill that those against abortion say can cause early-term abortions, although he said prescriptions should be required for minors.
The president’s remarks, which came in response to questions by The Examiner, infuriated anti-abortion groups who said underage girls will merely obtain the pill, known as Plan B, from boyfriends and others who are 18 or older. Pro-abortion groups cheered the president’s remarks, saying he was abandoning years of opposition to Plan B.
“I believe that Plan B ought to require a prescription for minors,” Bush said at a news conference in the White House press corps’s temporary offices near the West Wing.
Bush also stood by the acting commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach, who told Plan B’s makers last month: “We believe that the appropriate age for [over-the-counter] access is 18.” Such comments have prompted anti-abortion groups to demand that Bush withdraw his nomination of Eschenbach as the permanent commissioner.
“I support Andy’s decisions,” Bush said Monday.
Just remember:
Pres. Bush would NEVER sell the pro-life crowd down the river!!! Not even a little bit!

You can't 'kill' what never took place.
Malthusian-Trotskyites, all.
Another disappointment from Dub.
It's been one after another for as long as he's been in office, starting with his failure to prosecute the Klintonoid Kriminals.
Is Plan B only allowed to be sold to women, not to men?
How are the pharmacists to assure that the Plan B pills are consumed by the purchaser? Should they have to take them onsite?
I guess I watch too many shows like Desperate Housewives and can imagine a myriad of sinister possibilities.
Actually, one of the articles I read (probably in the Wall Street Journal, so no link) mentioned men picking up the Plan B ...OTC... and I was thinking... excuse me? Great - so the 15-year-old girls with 19-year-old lovers can get Plan B. Way to go for keeping the kids safe!
Anonymous said... It may be that the price will make girls think twice but to be able to purchase high concentrations of hormones -which are NOT innocuous--when the lower level birth control pills require a prescriptions seems stupid. Here is one thing--this way the girls do not have to see a physician and with STDs running rampant, theirs might as well leading to a future sterility or cancer.
You cannot tell me that some mother who is 3 months pregnant or something will not try to take this to abort! And what happens then?
It further encourages promiscuity. For a feminist to think this is some sort of freedom is twisted. This license is demeaning and women have never been so used and disrespected as they are now. And motherhood is also disrespected by men and women alike in many cases.
Make no mistake, this is another battle won by evil.
