Muslims Under Police, Intelligence Surveillance
Arab News ^ | August 19, 2006 | Shahid Raza Burney

PUNE, 19 August 2006 — Though denied by the Maharashtra government that it has issued any directive to put Muslims under watch, an issue that was even raised in the Lok Sabha (Lower House) of the Indian Parliament two days ago, reliable police sources still claim that the directive exists and that Muslims not only in Bombay but in the entire country are under the scanner of the federal and state intelligence agencies.

A sharp eye is being kept on the Muslim police officers, bureaucrats, politicians, journalists, scientists, and on madarsas, educational institutions, shrines and mosques.

Records of those who had traveled or stayed abroad for more than 10 years are being verified by the Special Branch police as also e-mails, faxes, letters and landline and mobile phones are being intercepted regularly, said police sources.

“May be the country would see no Muslim president after Abdul Kalam, no chief of the army, navy or air force, not even as state police chief. Also Muslims may not find jobs in the defense or police departments in future,” commented a police official.

The police have apprehensions of terrorists striking at important targets with the aide of locals. With the fortnight long important Hindu festival of elephant deity due to begin shortly, police are taking no risks, with security tightened up throughout Maharashtra state.

“Watch chat rooms for terror,” said state Director General of Police Pavender Singh Pasricha.

Addressing a high level meeting of police officials at the police commissioner’s office yesterday, Pasricha asked the top officials to gather intelligence with the help of cyber cafe owners. Terrorists are now chatting over the Internet as that’s difficult to detect compared to mobile phones and e-mails.

“Terrorists have started using chat rooms as that’s safe” Pasricha said and added that the police will now plan action along with cyber café owners, who have been asked to maintain identity proofs of customers like driving license.

Terrorism is not a temporary issue. We need to develop an effective security culture to tackle the problem. So much like ‘environment’, it is the need of the hour to include ‘security’ as a subject in school syllabus, Pasricha said and mentioned that the government is planning to form a special squad of spies to curb the rising terrorist activities in the State.

The cops working in agencies like Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Intelligence Branch are transferred after a certain period. So, to strengthen the system for gathering intelligence about terrorists, about fifty percent of the officials in this special squad would not be transferred. They will be working in this squad from their joining date till retirement, the state police chief said.

India seems to understand terrorism, even when we do not.

People who have lived with terrorism forever, don't take it as lightly as this spoiled, arrogant group of people we have in this nation. After 911 I never thought we would be where we are right now. It sickens me.

The whole sane world is keeping an eye on Muslims. That includes half of all Americans (the other half are PC liberals).

The only thing missing for my personal concept of the perfect necessary method of dealing with islam as it presently exists is:

No entry until further notice to muslims who do not already hold residency in the country for any reason whatsoever, but primarily certainly not for education, research and technical training of any sort. Nor for "tourism".

We can start calling India a totalitarian state, if that's what the sandmaggots wish to do, but until they, the world's muslims, civilize their behavior they can spare us the sweet words. Words are useless and worthless in this context.

Obvious question. What will it take for the U.S. to adopt the same common-sense policy? 1000 additional domestic deaths?
10,000?
100,000?

A million?

You overestimate the nutcases; they are no more than 20%, the hard core genetically terminally stuck-on-stupid ones.
The other 30% are simply ignorant and disengaged. They vote with the nutcases because they are not smart enough to be afraid --- yet.

Sometimes we do no actually realize the seriousness of a problem until terrorism kills one of our own. America nerver did accept canabalism, so how is Islam sny better?

If 3000 people brutally murdered on Sept. 11'th is not enough to change our policy towards Muslims, maybe it will take another 3000.

The more we wait to act, the more they (Muslim terrorists and those that support them), will do their best to see this happens.

Looks like the Muslims are wearing out their welcome in civilized regions of the world. Until Muslim moderates start a serious movement to eliminate the terrorists who operate among them, they're all suspects.

If more were like the Brit Muslim who turned in the nuts planning to blow up our planes, this kind of reaction would be moderated. But as long as the "good Muslims" do more whining than recognizing and working to get rid of their terrorist brethren, expect a lot more of this kind of thing.

I've never heard that the Sikhs were created to fight the Muslims but I do know one Sikh and guess what? I don't believe he likes Muslims. He's never said he doesn't like them but he very negative about them. It's too bad that ignorant people misinterpret his Turban for the rags the Muslims wear.

Ask him, he will tell you about the defense of his religion. The five K's.
The Sikh's are the one's (turban headed) who have been mistaken for muslims the most since 9/11. The Patriot Act has an exclusive clause for Sikhs if anyone cares to read it.
