Bill slashes number of new judges in half (CA)

The prospect of 15 new judges in Inland courtrooms by July was thrown into limbo Thursday because of a disagreement between the Assembly's top Democrat and Gov. Schwarzenegger over judicial appointments.

Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-Los Angeles, reduced from 50 to 25 the number of new judgeships to be allocated statewide in a bill that passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

The dispute centers on complaints by Nunez and some other lawmakers that Schwarzenegger has failed to appoint enough non-white judges since taking office in fall 2003.

Besides halving the number of judges this year, Thursday's bill leaves unsettled how to allocate the additional judgeships in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

The change reflects a concern by some in the Democrat-controlled Legislature that Schwarzenegger will win re-election in November.

Democrats want to see how Schwarzenegger fills the first round of judgeships before giving him the 100 additional slots.

Look at the deviousness of the Dems, to keep Arnold from electing reasonable judges, instead of liberal moonbats.

THAT's why Arnold isn't able to do more --- the Dem Legislature is willing to go to the extreme to thwart him.

"Bill slashes number of new judges in half (CA)"

I wonder how many were bisected before someone wrestled the sword away from him?

... to keep Arnold from electing reasonable judges, instead of liberal moonbats.

What does race have to do with moonbats?
The article mentions only white vs. non-white.
Arnold has appointed plenty of white and non-white liberal moonbats.

Absolutely!

I was shaking my head until I looked up your pedigree. Not from California.

Possibly, some insight into the California code might help our visitors.

The phrase failed to appoint enough non-white judges is California code for Hispanic. Fabian Nunez, along with several other members of the California legislature, are anchor babies, the children of illegal aliens, principally Mexican.

Generally, these anchor baby legislators are elected from gerrymandered enclaves of illegal aliens and anchor babies. They are usually reelected because they fiercely represent the cultural interests of their constituents and embrace the political support of cultural separatists.

Failed to appoint enough non-white judges is about culture, not race. About the growing movement toward cultural separatism in California, not a division over race. Hispanics are Caucasoids

Oh no. This is permissible. Now if they had said non-black judges, well that is a horse of a different color.
