Photoshop is an amazing program all right. But the one that blows me away as a powerful application that's simple to use is Visio. It makes me smile every time I use it.

I liked ver3.3 a lot and also 5.0. 5.0 was surprisingly close to flawless for an x.0 version.

I loved 5.0. Then 6.0 came out, and had problems. Then 6.1,, then 6.11, then 6.12, 6.2, 6.22, and the future of Microsoft was being foretold by the release of one buggy (P)OS after another.

5.0 was rock solid.

QDOS... The Quick and Dirty Operating System (A.K.A. Disk Operating System) And they sold it to Bill Gates for like $100. We are still using some of that code today.

The old Quattro Pro spreadsheet. It took the utilitarianism of Lotus 1-2-3 and made it user-friendly

Yep, ol' Quattro Pro was a real GEM in its time

It's the tenth entry in the Mac OS line. Pretty sure that counts as a successor, even though it's a totally different codebase.

...but the code that makes the internet run has changed the world.

I guess that would be the TCP/IP stack. The BSD one would probably be the most influential.
