If you were a screener, and if you have a choice of searching this guy, an 80-year old GrandMother or a middle aged business traveler, which one should you search?

US Answer: the GrandMother, of course, because instead of looking for suspicious passengers they use random selection, and she was the one who came up for random search.

They searched my 80 year old mother last year who was returning home from a cancer center, weak from chemo, in a wheelchair. The screener did apologize, mumbled something about random number. I was furious.

US Answer: the GrandMother, of course...

Slight correction; 80 year old Lutheran grandmother greeting the screener with a 'Uf Da', and wearing a "Lutefist - The piece of Cod that passes all understanding" T-shirt.

After all, we know it's those darn Christians who are behind this, thanks to Karl Rove.

And this is the truth, which disgusts me. I hate liberals and PC.

My 70YO Mother was pulled aside and systematically searched on a recent trip. Partially disabled and in pain, she was escorted aside and scanned by airport security, despite explicit papers denoting her condition.

I question of the competence of the authorities who make policy that brutally harasses our most gentle and loving of our nation while catering to murderous Islamofascists. They are as much an enemy as the fascists themselves.

When I was visiting Israel a few years back, I took an El Al flight to Rome for a few days before coming home. The security guys pulled me out of line, tore my luggage apart & interrogated me with the eyeball to eyeball technique where they monitored every blink & lateral wobble. The whole process took about 30-40 minutes. I can assure you I look nothing like a mideastern terrorist & I'm way more anglo looking than this British-born convert. But I was a female travelling alone, I understood that I fit a different kind of profile & I was more than happy to let them pick me apart limb from limb - my safety & my fellow passengers' safety depended on it.

The point is that the Israelis don't mess around with only ethnic profiling, neither should we. ME terorists have been known to cultivate western women & use them as unwitting couriers for bombs. They could just as easily run a distraction scam & turn your feeble old granny into a walking bomb without her knowledge in 3 seconds. I'm with El Al. Racial profile and hassle the swedish grannies & mormon toddlers. Those of you who think we'll be safe doing only one of these are kidding yourselves.
