CHICAGO, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Two 20-year-old men arrested in Ohio were being held on Thursday on charges of money laundering on behalf of Hizbollah, authorities said.

The two men, Ali Houssaiky and Osama Abulhassan, of Dearborn, Michigan, were apprehended on Tuesday in Marietta, Ohio, during a traffic stop and found carrying $11,000 in cash, 12 cell phones, airline passenger lists and information on airport security, a spokesman for the Washington County prosecutor's office said.

Authorities said the men admitted to buying hundreds of telephones and reselling them in Dearborn.

A map marking Wal-Mart stores from Ohio to South Carolina was also found in their sedan, a spokesman said.

Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit with a large Arab-American population, has been a locus of U.S. investigations into money-raising on behalf of Hizbollah and Hamas, both groups that are on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations.

The two men's alleged tie to Hizbollah was not detailed by authorities. Each was being held on $200,000 bond and neither had yet entered a plea to the charge, which carries a sentence of up to 18 months in prison.

Initially, the two men were charged with obstructing official business because they lied to police, the spokesman said, but those charges were dropped.

They were stopped for a turn signal violation in the central Ohio city 90 miles (145 km) southeast of Columbus.

A second charged was added for the two Dearborn men who were arrested in Ohio and charged money laundering to support terrorism. Thursday, prosecutors charged 20-year-old Ali Houssaiky and 20-year-old Osma Sabhi Abulhassan with soliciting or providing support for an act of terrorism. Police said the men initially lied, but then under interrogation admitted to buying 600 untraceable cell phones. Authorities are concerned that if shipped to the Middle East, the chips from the phones may be used to remotely detonate car bombs.

Is there any doubt now that Islam as a whole is embarking on a modern crusade to convert or kill those who won't convert?

Well, shucks! They're just 20 years old. Probably just some crazy college kids.

The young men who are planning and expecting to fulfill their death missions are being taught and encouraged somewhere.

Somebody, somewhere that has some kind of authority (be it in the Muslim community or law enforcement) MUST get into the mosques where HATE is being preached and encouraged and require the imams or someone STOP THE HATE TEACHING!

If they're citizens, a more accurate charge would be treason.

...central Ohio city...

Accuracy in media is not what it used to be.

Marietta is smack dab on the Ohio river, on the far sountheastern edge of the state and not in central Ohio. It is a very small town (pop.14,515) with no Arab residents.

What is not being addressed is why these two guys were in Marietta. They would stand out like sore thumbs there, and the opportunities for glorious martyrdom there are few.
