IMO we'll be out of Iraq before the 2008 election for the most part.

First, this is nothing but the usual tripe.

Even if they were correct, and their not, what would be the alternative? Let them cut off our freaking heads, give them our Country.......live like those bugs do???

Idiots...... just more idiotic garbage from the traitors on the left.

What a flat out lie of a headline.

Saying "some troops should be brought home this year," is nowhere near opposition to the Iraqi war.

Some could be two.

Some could be December 31.

Some could be brought home and MORE sent back.

I think this poll shows rather incredibly high support for the war. 35 percent say none should be brought home. Bush and other generals have expressed confidence that some troops will be brought home this year but all have reasonably asserted that they will not be tied to time tables.

I think the Peace Industrial Complex is beginning to collapse.

I wasn't polled. Poll every single American and see what you get.

Say the results 36% in favor, 40% against, others unsure or something else like Bush is not conducting it right. That 40% doesn't look good from CNN's perspective. So immediately after the 36% statement when we naturally expect to hear the "not in favor" stat they give us a response to a different question.

Clever.

Solution? Put the ball in CNN's court. Public demand for all questions and results. Fisking the MSM is a popular subject these days. Even the MSM is covering it.

It doesn't really matter. The real "poll" will be taken in the voting booth this fall.
I think that CNN will be quite surprised by the results.

I oppose the war.

I would have opposed WWII - but that would not have stopped Hitler. Only the strength of our brave troops stopped him. Wanting peace is a good thing, but kicking the butts of the bad guys is the only way to get it sometimes. Evil must be fought and defeated, not wished away.

Yeah, ditto. A CNN poll. The media has lost so much credibility, why should we believe anything that comes from them.

What do you expect from a poll commissioned by the Communist News Network.

Pollsters give their customers the results they want or they don't get rehired.

Nobody polled me.
Am I on the "do not poll list", or is this just typical MSM BS.

Adults....not likely voters, not even registered voters. This poll is so engineered to get the result they got, it's sickening.

nobody supports war. nobody wants our troops over there. it just depends on how you word the question.

it's like getting all hysterical because most muslims say they are muslims first, citizens second. heck, i'm a Christian first, citizen second too. it all depends on how you word the questions.

Someone who opposes the war from day one could nevertheless want to keep troops there until the job is done.

Given the headline, the position of the troop withdrawal question right after telling us one result of the "support the war" question was intentional.

"Poll: 60 percent of Americans oppose Iraq war"

And yet, 48% of the most liberal voters , in the most liberal state voted for the PRO-war candidate.
How can this "poll" be true then?

60% of Americans want to eliminate federal taxes.
60% of Americans would like a massage from Scarlett Johansson.
60% of Americans wish they had more money in the bank.

Blah blah blah.

Not too many people, if given the choice, would pick war over peace.

But war has been thrust upon us, by the evildoers. So we must hunt them down and wipe them out.

I'd really like to know who the pollsters are talking to, because in the last 4 months I've had to fly back-and-forth across the country and at every airport that I've had to change planes, every one, I've had people come up and thank me for wearing the uniform and for the good that we are doing in Iraq.

Or is this a case of a bunch of FReepers screwing up the results of the polls like I did on November 2004. (Kerry supporters are still believing that nobody lied on the exit polls - hehehe).
