No, federal government interference with commerce IS a bad thing. However, this type of "commerce" smells.
People defaulting on credit card debt causes MY cards to become more expensive (if I ever choose to carry a balance). If they only had "cash and carry" gambling, no one (except compulsive gamblers, I guess) would get hurt.
Just this line from the article should tell you something-
"Additionally, the World Trade Organization has been asked to settle disputes between the country of Antigua and Barbuda and the U.S. over recent prohibitions to online gambling. According to Antiguan authorities, the U.S. has taken no measures to comply with the recommendations and rulings of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body on the issue."

It would tell you more if you bothered to look into it. The US, or any other country, has the right to ban internet gambling in their own country, but it must be comprehensive. You can't ban a poker room in Antigua but allow bets on horse races in Kentucky. You can't ban a poker room in Barbados but allow bets on a state lottery in Michigan.
The US used the WTO agreement against Canada over marijuana decriminalization. The US used the WTO agreement against Mexico over drug reform. Our legislators are hypocrites of the worst kind.

It does. As a Citizen of the United States of America, I don't give a crap what the World Trade Organization is, does, recommends, or considers.
