France Calls to Postpone Security Council Session
Arutz Sheva - IsraelNationalNews ^ | 8/7/6

France a short time ago has requested to push off Tuesday’s scheduled UN Security Council session dealing with an Israeli ceasefire in Lebanon.

Reportedly bowing to increasing pressure to amend the French ceasefire proposal, French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy a short time ago announced the scheduled UN session will be placed on hold to permit officials to amend the ceasefire document.

The longer the useless twits over at the UN haggle, the better for Israel.

"a short time ago announced the scheduled UN session will be placed on hold to permit officials to amend the ceasefire document."

The French won't quit until they hand the Hezbos a win.

Is it possible that the French are actually trying to help give Israel more time to degrade Hizbollah's capabilities?

Yes that is about the only logical reason I can think of. If the fighting ends now Hezbollah wins. Nothing much has changed since the war started. Israel is still at risk.

It takes time for Israel to get its 30,000 troops called up and ready for duty. Once they are ready, you can kiss Hezbollah good bye.

It took well over a week to get the 10,000 toops Israel currenly has in the field. I think the 30,000 additional are about ready to roll.

It's more likely the French are bowing to pressure from their Muslim population - to make the cease fire more advantageous to Hizbollah....

Learn from history of the past century....
France can be relied upon to work against the best of the United States -- and kiss the ass of those with whom they are engaged in "under the table" lucrative business deals..

Delay is good in dealing with the UN. I say postpone until the IDF finishes the job.

Probably not, but the end result of everyone's haggling is that Israel gets more time. I just wish Israel would do something smarter with the time than they have so far. Stop trying to fight a precision war and go all out, no matter what the cost. Be done with it once and for all.

The one thing that has kept Israel safe for the last 40 years was its fearsome reputation. They have now shown a self-inflicted weakness, and that will only strengthen Israel's enemies. Just my opinion, but we would all do well to remember what Osama bin Laden said about how people prefer to back a strong horse.

Whether or not France is giving Israel more time or not, it is the net result.

Go France!

Well, even the hezzies have stated that they were surprised by Israel's response being more intense than they expected. But remember, the rags have had 6 years to fortify their postions, so it's not a cake walk for Israel. Yea, they could probably lay waste to Lebenon, and who knows the whole ME might be in need of being wasted if they keep following the muurderous minions of Mad Mo (piss be upon his head), but if, (and its a BIG IF) it can be done w/out wasting Lebenon, they they should try. It sucks, but they have to.
