Thanks a lot for the ping, FRiend.
That would explain the comments here about the current ruler being a tyrant. Thanks.
Err,while I don't have a problem with folks who hate commies, messing up facts is another issue!!!
Gyanendra did all he could to alienate the wider Nepali populace-indirectly helping the Maoists.About China, well Gyanendra started cozying up to Beijing & Islamabad long before the Maoist menace became widespread.Which is one reason why India, the UK & US were against him & made it conditional that for resumption of armssales, that parliament be reconvened. After the new Govt came to power, bureaucrats & generals close to Beijing have been axed..............in other words,Beijing doesn't have a lot to cheer about.
It appears per post #43 that you have your facts wrong about the good old King.
While I never professed to have first hand knowledge of the rule in Nepal it appears that my post regarding a King and his ability to promote Communism among a populace has some actual meaning in Nepal.
Before you jump all over someone for being a communist lover you might want to try and understand what someone is posting about and above all make sure you have your facts straight.
Not in this case. The King owns 4000 acres, not the whole country. He's already not much of a king as kings go.
==Before you jump all over someone for being a communist lover
I don't think I ever said any such thing. If I did, I apoligize--GGG
