Yikes, a Golden over 100 lbs? Our Golden was portly at 80, and was a perfect Joe Frasier fightin' weight at 75.

My female rott is petite for her breed, thankfully, taking after after her mother (who tipped the scales at a solid 80lbs). Her father, who is, I kid you not, the canine Hank Hill, was MASSIVE at 145lbs-- a head the size of a cannon ball, and front paws as big as my own feet (ladies, size 9.5) Thankfully, a very even tempered, mellow dog--a true Texan.

I guess, though, if the sire is Hank Hill... the dam must be Peggy--so I guess that makes Ursa... Bobby.

Ranger, my hurricane rescue checks in right about 65...he looks miniscule next to Timber. Because I know nothing of the circumstances of his whelping I have know idea of how much he 'should' weigh. Likewise, he was heartworm+ when adopted so I'll never know if and to what degree the infestation and treatment may have stunted his growth. His teeth seem exceptionally long for his size, which is probably about as big as he'll ever get.

As for a Chihuahua-rat terrier like Midge working as a K-9, well, the president of the North American Police Work Dog Association, H.D. Bennett, says he's never heard of a police dog so small it nearly fits in an outstretched palm.

I agree with Mr. Bennett. A police dog must be intimidating enough to scare a perp into submission. And big and strong enough to take down a fleeing perp.

But a drug dog doesn't need those qualifications. Just about any breed of dog can be trained to be a drug dog.

Jake's sire was a large male and the mother was also big and blocky. He nearly tipped over the duck boat with an ungracious leap along the upper Mississippi on a cold Minnesota morning. The guys in the boat nicknamed him lard ass after that.

Do you ever close your curtains or draw your blinds? Why, unless you have something to hide?
