I don't think Bush's comment was a slip. I think it was intentional, aimed at Syria.

Really? People really give a sh-t that the President said, well, "sh-t"?

Is it appropriate to ask, "Who gives a sh-t?"

Maybe the asshat who wrote this could develop enough ability to use logic to realize that Bush was being eavesdropped on, not purposely going before cameras to use profanity. Nor was it a live broadcast. Any news station that chose to air the audio uncensored is the party at fault for violating FCC rules, not the president. He didn't know he was being overhead. What a total idiot for this guy to make this apples and oranges argument.

I hope this guy is being intentionally intellectually dishonest and not actually forming what he thinks is a reasonable and logical parrallelism here between the intentional airing of smut and someoen who's conversation is being listened in on. I'd hate to think an actual human being to whom some people give enough credibility to allow him to be published would be this unintentionally stupid.

The "s" word is not a curse. It is an earthy Anglo-Saxon word for something that happens.

Live mikes and live broadcast are two different things. When he was eating lunch one could assume this was not being broadcast. If the owner of the open mike then broadcast the offending word, the broadcaster SHOULD be fined.

The president's "slip" occurred during a private moment and discussion with PM Blair. Mr. Bush did not know that there was a hot microphone nearby.

Completely different from the situation Mr. Dyke(Di*k) is positing.

If I were live on radio or TV right now, I would make the observation that "Dyke is a dick".

Dick of course, being short for "Richard".

Oh right, his name is "Jim".

As in "His career is DEAD Jim!"

This alleged "journalist" is indeed (in the words of another poster) an *ASSHAT*.

Bush isn't a broadcaster. He isn't responsible for what broadcasters put on the air. They were the ones who wanted to broadcast a private comment.

I think it just showed Bush's human side.

Nothing George Bush has ever got caught saying even comes close to the time Bill Clinton cursed out an aide at the first Clinton White House Easter Party. Rush once showed it on his TV show. Of course, none of the MSM picked it up and played it like they do with Republicans.

Where's the barf alert? I don't think you can fine somebody if someone records you without your knowledge and then leaks the clip to the media. This wasn't frickin live TV, it was a semi-private lunch.

Our former Prime Minister (Canada) Pierre Trudeau used to like to tell opponents to "mangez la merde". Liberals thought that it was rather endearing. The media largely gave him a pass on telling an Opposition Member in Parliament to "Fuddle Duddle" (at least that's what Trudeau claimed he said afterward -- use your imagination to figure out what he actually said). Double standards, eh"?

The "s-word" is not a curse word as such, it is just crude Anglo-Saxon terminology referring to a disgusting substance.

And its use was perfectly appropriate, relating to the subject of the conversation.

Why the heck are we discussing this? Geez, someone use a word on tv and people freak. Never heard of anyone dropping dead from the use of the English language.
